Orphea Chastain
Orphea is the last scion of House Chastain, a prominent family of Noirlan aristocrats known for merchant trade, seafaring exploration, and a legacy of valorous military service. When Orphea's parents were lost at sea during an ill-fated Silent Sea expedition, she became the head of the family business.
Orphea is an upbeat and vivacious woman with a taste for adventure and a penchant for danger. Her obvious beauty and natural charm would have made her a very suitable addition to Noirlan's fashionable gallery of idle debutantes, but the life of dresses and dances and dilettantes could never satisfy her real ambitions.

Of late, Chastain has hired the services of many mercenaries and adventurers to conduct investigations in and around the Noirlan parishes. Most recently she has employed an adventuring party known as Marsala's Men, but these bravos and ruffians have not been seen in Noirlan for many months now.
Orphea's estranged twin brother Oliver has been committing a series of terror attacks in the city and many citizens believe Orphea has been sheltering or even working with him for nefarious purposes. Public hostility has forced Orphea to leave Noirlan for her own safety.
From exile, Orphea has surreptitiously recruited the captain and crew of the SS Hawke to engage in a secret expedition into the the Forbidden Zone.
