Angol Amulet (engyl)

I look at the lifeless frame of Aurion Imrath, feeling sick. His pale blonde hair is scattered about the brown grass, the tips stained with his violet blood. There are tear tracks running down his face. He died crying. I carefully kneel at his side, checking around his neck.   "It's gone." I whisper. Glandur looks over my shoulder.   "Angol. That's not good but who would want it? It's really only useful if you're attuned to it. Otherwise, it's just a pretty paperweight." I gently close Aurion's eyes. Dimas shifts his weight, clearly concerned.   "It's also a key to a vault in Alagos Esgar. There are a number of things there that the Elgath Order would kill to get their hands on. Which they have." Warmth passes over my face, and I reach up. The warmth passes through my hand. A faint presence, trying to grip my fingers, hold my attention. "Can you tell me anything? Help me find your killer?"   I look up. Aurion's soul, he looks so distressed. Hair is wrapped up around his antlers, clothes stained with blood, mouth moving, begging. I can't hear him.   "We'll find the amulet. I know how vital it is to the Arch Druids." He kneels, leaning his head against my shoulder. "I know it's your tie to the land, our knowledge, history and forebearers."   His soul flickers, looking at his body. The duress and trauma have tied him here. "We'll bury you too. You'll get your last rights."   He runs his fingers along my brow, noting the face paint there. I nod my head.   "It's mine now, the throne." I sigh heavily. "It should be you who gives me the blessings."   He smiles sadly, motioning for me to turn. I do and he places on hand on my head. The warmth from his soul is comforting. I know he's speaking, it's almost a pressure on my ears. I meet his gaze.   "You were a good one." I stand and he joins me. Rustling in the bushes catch my attention and Kenji returns with the others.   "No one in the area." He says.    "Beithir, is this normal?" Dimas motions to Aurion's soul.   "Yes." I hold up a hand, crafting an image of the amulet for them. "Did you see this while out searching for signs of the attackers?"   Dimas shakes his head. "What is it?"   "An Amulet that helps our Arch Druids to connect to our land. It was stolen." Dimas shakes his head.   "Of course." He glances around at the dead forest. "It's still eerie that everything died in this area because he was murdered."   "It's what happens with a Druid." I sit, thinking. "The amulet will leave a magical trace. We'll need another Druid to track it. We're going to have to ask for a volunteer."   "If it means getting it back, most will be willing to help." Glandur helps me to my feet. "Let's get going, you're majesty."

Mechanics & Inner Workings

It was built with one of the purest, most flawless earth emeralds every harvested from the Agar Grôd. Polished to perfection and placed in a setting of purest silver and Dragon steel. There is a constant soft glow to it; a healthy, living glow of nature and the world to it. It pulses in areas with high contractions of magic, especially druidic magic.

Significance

This pendent is given to the Arch Druid of Gîlmunrîel, usually handed over to them by the previous Arch Druid or the monarch if the previous Arch Druid has died. It grants them an even greater tie to the land beyond their home area, allowing them to protect the country and give advice to the current monarch as well as to the four regional lords.
Angol is a key, a magical tool and a sign of rank for the Druid who wears it. It enhances their power, connects them to the land in a deeper way and show that they are respected and trusted by the Royal Family, regional lords and Senate. Angol helps them protect and care for their people in ways they wouldn't be able to without it.

It can be attuned to more than one user, usually when the Arch Druid becomes injured and unable to perform certain tasks, needing a second to assist with or completely do the tasks they are unable to do. The second tends to slowly assume all the duties of the Arch Druid until they themselves are appointed to the position.
