Bruna, Angel of Honor
While all of the angels of Innistrad are revered, the mistress of Flight Alabaster is also dreaded. While the other Flights protect them during their lives, those under Bruna's leadership shepherd the souls of the departed to the Blessed Sleep, the promised afterlife of endless comfort, leisure, and sunny days. This has the unfortunate side effect of making the angels of Flight Alabaster omens of death, and there are stories of people running away from the very angel sent to help them, and into a far worse fate.
Bruna is called the Angel of Honor because of her ties with the teachings of the Church, which preaches that to follow the laws of Avacyn and her Church is to show you are worthy of the Flight's attentions at your hour of need. While the priests are careful not to guarantee your place in the Blessed Sleep, it is thought by many that to be carried away by an Alabaster angel is to be immune to the necromancer's call.
Bruna is the Angel of secret knowledge, most closely associated with the more esoteric magics of the faith; not blasts of fire and columns of light, but deeper, more subtle truths.
She is said to be a gentle soul, kind to those in her care. She carries a staff with her at all times, from which hangs a moonsilver censer. The smoke is said to be able to resurrect the dead, restoring them to true life rather than undeath, though the Church has never verified this.
She does not appear often in the world; It is said that she searches among the dead for great heroes to take into a special realm, where they will feast, train, and make ready to return as a great ghostly host, at Innistrad's darkest hour.
