Huvela Outpost

Located in the Tolana galaxy, the Dakuians lived peaceful lives for years, honing their mining skills to provide natural resources for fueling their economy. Space travel was used for trading purposed only. However, as mining began to cause a drain on the environment, the Dakuians began to look for solutions to continue to fuel without causing such a strain on the environment. Daku is a cold and hard climate, with very little development in the ways of renewable sources of energy.
The Dakuians sent an exploratory crew to Huvela, a nearby planet that was void of most life, consisting of only a few dessert rats, insects, and very little water. The planet was rich in titanium, particularly rare forms of Titanium. While helpful for continuing the buildout of space travel material, it was not a helpful form of fuel. The Dakuians saw an opportunity for trade with other species. The Dakuians entered negotiations with the Tolana and the Cove, but as negotiations commenced, the Dakuians were attacked by invaders from the Andromeda galaxy, the Yunaki. The attack caused mass destruction on the planet, the first time it had been attacked by an invading alien species.
The Dakuians had very little in the ways of military resources or a standing army. A small planet with little resources, they had rarely been of interest to the Tolana, Soli, and newly independent Rhonians. Their ability to mine a new planet was the first time the Tolana showed interest in a formal agreement, as they needed the titanium to continue to build out their growing space fleet to attack Earth, and eventually move to another galaxy themselves.
The Tolana defended the Dakuians, meeting the Yunaki in space and destroying most of the fleet. They Tolana obtained intelligence on the Yunaki and began building a strategy for them. They brokered a deal with the Dakuians, giving them access to some technology to develop reneweable energy on their planet and also providing them with military protection. In turn, the Dakuians were to mine and send all titanium to the Tolana.
