Izayah Hendricks

Izayah Dylan Hendricks (service number 55469-88795-IH) is an Black American serviceman of the United Space Command Navy holding the rank of commander. Hendricks also holds two degrees in xenobiology of native wildlife of Harmony and New Earth, He is also a veteran of the Jovian Conflict of 2687 and the Second Energy War (2695 - 2700). Presently, Hendricks is in command of the Achilles Orbital Defense Station above Harmony, however, prior to that he was the base commander of Fire Team Delta, with notable members being Kody Davidson, Tyron Jackson, Bryon O'Neil, Rylie Bistro, and Kaylynn Miller; and though he's not supposed to, Hendricks has developed a deep affection for his former underlings, often describing them as the children he never had.

On August 23, 2740, Hendricks gave his life during the battle of Earth when he crashed his Panther dropship into the main command bridge of a Hivivian Destroyer, crippling it and allowing his former Squad to board it.

Appearance

His once tightly-curled crow-black hair is now specked with white reminders of the weighty wisdom gathered over many years. His skin, smooth and coffee-dark, doesn't betray his age as much as his hair does, but it's marred by a myriad of scars - each a story of danger braved and victory earned.
His eyes are the color of freshly brewed coffee, lively and alert even under the fatigue that years in service have bestowed upon him. They hold an air of authority, knowing and wise, hinting at the countless battles, victories, and losses he has witnessed. Hendrick's voice is deep and resonating, a natural baritone that commands attention. It has a soothing quality too, reminiscent of an old jazz tune one might play on a quiet evening after a long day.
A prominent scar that lines his left cheekbone serves as a constant reminder of an encounter with a terrorist during the Second Energy War. His hands, though strong and capable, bear the signs of countless battles; the skin roughened from holding onto weapons, steering ships through asteroid fields, and patching up wounds on his own and others under his command.

Another cherished possession is an old pocket watch which once belonged to his great-grandfather, who fought in the Second Nuclear War. It no longer works but Hendricks keeps it as a memento of his family's legacy of military service.
Hendricks also has an affinity for vintage pens, often seen carrying one in the inner pocket of his jacket. He finds comfort in writing down his thoughts and memories using these classic writing instruments. Despite being stationed on an Achilles Orbital Defense Station above Harmony, Hendricks has managed to create a cozy living space for himself. Early life and education

Izayah Dylan Hendricks was born on June 20, 2665 near the outskirts of the City of Nova on the capital world of the Inner Colonies, Harmony, to Irvin and Alexann Hendricks. Hendricks is an only child.
Growing up in the City of Nova, Hendricks was exposed to a fusion of different cultures. His father, Irvin, was a decorated officer in the United Space Command Navy while his mother, Alexann, worked as a primary school teacher. Despite their demanding jobs, Irvin and Alexann found time to instill in their son the values of discipline, courage, and compassion - these would go on to form the bedrock of Hendricks' character.
From an early age, Hendricks exhibited a natural curiosity about the world around him. He loved exploring Nova's vibrant streets - filled with holographic advertisements and bustling markets selling exotic fruits. During middle and high school, Hendricks became fascinated with xenobiology of Harmony’s native wildlife and began spending most of his free time at the city's public library, absorbed in the study of alien wildlife and ecosystems. His teachers recognized his natural acuity for science, and with their encouragement, he pursued advanced courses, dreaming of one day contributing to interplanetary exploration - a dream that would later translate into a formidable career in the USC Navy.
