Early life and education
Martin Jacob Gains was born on May 6, 2651 within humanity’s homeworld of Earth, Las Vegas, Nevada. Gains is the eldest son and second born child of a proud military family dating back almost three hundred years. During high school, Gains’ father, Commander Lucas Gains Sr., who was a hardcore Navy officer of the United Space Command was tragically murdered by his best friend for refusing to support his drug habit. The loss hit Gains hard, and he fell into a slump through most of his high school years.
If not for a particular naval officer from a career day one spring, Gains too might have ended up dead himself. It was this officer, Jonathon Sellers, who inspired him to join the USC Navy. A decision that forever changed his life.
