After gaining wide success across Hierarchy territory in the early 1900s, newspapers have become a modern staple of Caniic and Tigriic societies. The international paper of the Hierarchy is the Hierarchy Press with the Colonial Paper being the primarly paper for Hierarchy related news. The Hierarchy Press, known as the international paper of the Hierarchy, has achieved widespread success and recognition. With a dedicated focus on providing news and information to the diverse population of the Hierarchy, this newspaper has become a go-to source for individuals seeking to stay informed about global affairs, regional developments, and local events. Its extensive reach ensures that people across the territory have access to reliable and up-to-date news. While the Colonial Paper disseminates Hierarchy-related news within planetary colonies. As a primary newspaper for Hierarchy-related news, it caters specifically to the needs and interests of those residing in and affected by colonial systems. This specialized publication addresses colonial policies, social issues, cultural events, and other relevant topics. By focusing on the colonial experience, the Colonial Paper aims to foster understanding, awareness, and discourse among the readership.   The success and popularity of newspapers in Caniic and Tigriic societies can be attributed to their ability to deliver information in a tangible, accessible format. While technology has introduced new avenues for news consumption, newspapers continue to hold a special place in the daily lives of people. They offer a tactile experience, allowing readers to flip through pages, engage with articles, and tear out pieces of interest. Newspapers serve as forums for different perspectives and voices. They provide platforms for journalists, writers, and opinion columnists to express their views and share valuable insights. Television

Television has a far smaller role in Caniic society than other races, with only about thirty-three percent of Caniic households having just one television. A number of Caniic nations, including Yu'toriic, New Viranii, Amadoriic, and Doractic, do have government-owned public broadcasting authorities which operate and fund all public television stations in their respective nations. The income received from the government is sufficient to cover expenses and stations also rely on viewer contributions.   The two major broadcasters in Caniic society are the International Broadcasting Company (IBC), and the Hierarchy Broadcasting Company (HBC). Several Tigriic and Sauruanian broadcast networks exist, which are the most common form of non-Caniic television broadcasts. These networks are not as widely distributed over-the-air as their Caniic counterparts; several of these over-the-air networks are alternatively fed directly to satellite and CCTV providers in markets without the availability for a locally based owned-and-operated or affiliate station.

Radio

Radio stations in caniic society are the most widely used form of broadcasting system. With nearly eighty-three percent of caniic households owning at least one radio. Whether it is for news updates, entertainment, or simply background music, radios provide a convenient and accessible source of information and entertainment for many caniic. One reason radios are so prevalent in caniic households is their affordability and simplicity. Unlike other forms of media, such as television, radios require minimal setup, making them an affordable option for many households. Additionally, radios can be used in areas with limited access to electricity, making them a reliable source of information in remote or rural areas.   Another factor contributing to the popularity of radio in caniic society is their ability to reach a wide audience. Radio signals can cover vast distances, allowing stations to broadcast their content to a diverse range of listeners. This aspect of radio broadcasting enables stations to cater to different demographics and interests, offering a variety of programming choices. Furthermore, unlike other media forms that require visual engagement, radios allow individuals to multitask and listen while performing other tasks, making them a convenient choice for busy lives. Radio also play a crucial role in keeping civilians informed and connected. Local, national, international, and colonial news bulletins, weather updates, and traffic reports are regularly broadcasted, ensuring that individuals stay up to date with current events. Moreover, radio programs often feature discussions on various topics, fostering a sense of community by encouraging dialogue and providing a platform for different voices and opinions to be heard.
