USC Army

The United Space Command Army (USCA) is a branch of the United Space Command Armed Forces and is primarily responsible for land-based military operations under the direction of the Unified Ground Command alongside the USC Marine Corps and other land-based forces. Unlike the Marine Corps, which is typically deployed in expeditionary operations across the galaxy in conjunction with the USC Navy, the Army is primarily implemented in ground combat operations and garrison duties, serving as a major part of the USC Defense Force alongside the USC Air Force.

Dress Uniform

The Army Green Service Uniform includes a dark olive drab four-pocket coat with belted waist, drab trousers, khaki shirt, olive tie, and brown leather oxfords for both men and women, with women having the option to wear a pencil skirt and pumps instead. Headwear consists of an olive garrison cap or an olive peaked service cap with brown visor; units with distinctive colored berets continue to wear them. Enlisted rank is indicated by chevrons worn on the upper sleeve, while officer rank is indicated by pins on the shoulder straps. The Army Blue Service Uniform includes a midnight blue coat worn with lighter blue trousers for male soldiers and a midnight blue coat worn with either lighter blue slacks or midnight blue skirt for female soldiers. The trousers/slacks for non-commissioned and commissioned officers include a stripe of gold braid on the outer side of the leg. Generals wear midnight blue trousers/slacks with gold braid instead of the lighter blue used in lower ranks. The blue service uniform is worn with a white shirt, a black four-in-hand necktie for males or black neck tab for females, and black leather shoes. Headwear includes a matching service cap with branch-of-service colors on the hat band or a beret, with black remaining the default color unless the soldier is authorized a distinctive colored beret. Enlisted rank is also indicated by chevrons on the upper sleeve, while officer rank is indicated by passant shoulder straps with branch-of-service color backing. Combat boots and organizational items, such as brassards, military police accessories, or distinctive unit insignia are not worn when used as ceremonial dress. When the blue uniform is worn for social events in the evening, men may wear a black bow tie rather than a black four-in-hand necktie, and commanders may direct that headwear is not required.

Combat Uniform

Army soldiers sport fatigues with varying camouflage patterns depending on the operation; the most widely used is a light woodland scheme, though desert pattern fatigues are also common. The armor plating used by the Army is generally colored dust brown, gray, or olive drab. The main components of the armor include an armored vest, a M47C combat helmet, shoulder pauldrons, thigh armor, and in some cases, shin guards. Most of the armor components are standardized and are shared by the different branches of the USC, primarily the Marine Corps and the Air Force. The chest armor has an extension to provide protection to the groin. The thighs are protected by plates of UA/NxRA non-explosive reactive armor with attachment rigs for equipment. The shoulder pauldrons are secured into rigs covering the upper arms and attached to the armor vest. Different types of pauldrons may be worn with the armor, the most common ones being a GUNGNIR shoulder pad and a larger pauldron of a different model; some troopers wear a different pauldron on each shoulder, while others wear two of the same type. Radio operators wear no pauldron on the left shoulder.

Equipment

On the waist is a utility belt used for storing equipment. Troopers commonly wear different types of backpacks, including radios and combat webbing. Troopers often wear various helmet attachments, including tactical goggles, heads-up display eyepieces, flashlights, HESA-E sensors, Command Network Modules, and O/I optics devices. Troopers typically wear a Tactical/LRP chest piece with three ammo pouches. Some troopers are also equipped with a tactical "soft case" attached to the left thigh plate.
