Mount Athos is a religious nation. Directly ruled by Issandria herself as head of state and church. She is advised by a college of cardinals of the faithful. Issandria often times is inaccessible as she delves into the mystery of the arcane weave and her divination. This leaves a large portion of the daily operation of the nation to her Cardinals who rule individual Arch Diocese and Diocese. These Cardinals have direct control of the laws and interpretations of the divine wisdom in their Diocese.

The magic weave of the world is centered upon Issandria's tower in Mount Athos. She controls the ebbs and flows of arcane power through the world. Mount Athos is home to the great library of the world, which houses detailed accounts of recorded history and knowledge of the universal nature.

History

Following the War of Reunification, Issandria retreated to the West and with her power constructed a great tower on the peak of a mountain at the center of natural arcane ley lines. Once constructed she invited those seeking knowledge to live in peace, as long as they abide by her laws. As time went on, a strict social structure and religious hierarchy formed in her worship. Belief in their wisdom and infallibility has led the church to be unyielding in their implementation of the law.
Knowledge and magical ability flow freely in the land and there seems to be no end in sight for the progress of the society. Airships transport citizens between major centers of learning and cities float free of the ground and Grom's tainting influence.
