Making a Character:

The Author recommends that you play with a party of at least three, but no more than six, Lvl. 3 party members on 25 Epic Fantasy Point Buy for Ability Scores, and level them up based on story events of significance to your campaign. You may alter these rules to your liking, or ignore them outright, if it suits your campaign better - these are just recommendations.

Iocrade is a world just as much as it is a campaign setting, designed to be at least somewhat plausible in the rules of the setting. It is a medium for your creativity, so while these guidelines are helpful for creating a general campaign, they are only there to get you started.

A good place to start your party is in Stormakt, at around 1395 CE - at the start date of the main setting, it is a country in flux and turmoil, with a lot going on for them to involve themselves in, from corruption among the nobles to crime on the streets, all culminating in the Stormaki Civil War, which has the potential to be a climax to an early-game story chain. It is also a more familiar locale, with a European-style fantasy setting.
