Frosthill Mountains

The tallest mountain range on Weston, the Frosthill Mountains run through the southern regions for about 500 kilometres, with the highest peaks at over 5000 metres above sea level. Only known location in Weston where dragons still live in enough numbers to maintain their population, the mountains are also home to a number of other species, including goblins, kobolds, trolls and giants. Whilst the area contains rich resources, and parts of it are exploited, it is considered a lawless and dangerous region, and only the brave or the foolhardy travel into the mountains without serious protection.
Most of the range sits officially within the borders of the Kingdoms of Newia and Orbach, with parts in Redlking and Uyagh, but it is almost impossible to properly enforce borders in that wild region. The only above-ground settlement of any note is the Newian town of Skiptonrith, a well fortified mining town with a sizable dwarf population. There are a number of small dwarven settlements, but the effort of maintaining a permanent place in the face of hostility from the mountains less civilised inhabitants is often not worth the benefits. There are rumours of large goblin towns and cities, deep under the mountains, and of civilisations of even stranger and older species, but so far no evidence has been found for their existence.
