Mortal Domain

The Mortal Domain is the whole of reality that encompasses the world that living creatures inhabit and souls are born into. Unlike the Astral Planes, the Mortal Domain is inherently neutral in that without intelligent agency, its actions have no inclination towards good, evil, chaos or law, it just exists in a state of being. Within the Mortal Domain is the Material Plane, where physical material exists, and land, seas, air, living creatures and all in between reside.   The Material Plane is often influenced by the Astral Planes beyond, but it retains its neutral nature without active intervention and extending out to the Astral Planes is the miasma of the Astral Sea; whilst this can be crossed with appropriate measures, the easiest and best way to travel between planes are Portals, gateways that lead from one place to another. Most Portals are ancient and massive, but the knowledge to create new Portals is not entirely lost, and some beings do not require them at all.
