Ionica is a world where Science is beginning to catch up to Magic. Where once spellcasters were feared or respected for their abilities, discoveries in things like gunpowder or better fertilizers has seen a fall in status for magic users. Dwarves and Gnomes are the 2 races responsible for most of the developments.
The world consists of 5 main continents in a world covered in about 50% of water. Biomes are extremely varied and you can find anything from deserts to tropical rainforests.
Races are varied with humans outnumbering most other races by a large amount and in control of 4 of the continents. The 5th continent is the only place where non-humans make up a bigger population.
Variety of culture and beings means there is a wide variety of things like aesthetics, fashion, customs, etc.
