Session 52- Vengeance for Ionnivar

So we fought and killed God...
  • Vic died and came back as some sort of cat demon; Balthazar stayed behind to buy us time; his fate is unknown...
  • Session 51- Prep time!

    Notes about the final boss:
  • Gate to the palace is magically reinforced
  • There is supposedly an entrance to the palace through the sewers
  • There's 100% traps
  • Emperor is in supposedly no shape to fight; jury is out on this
  • About the palace: Entrances:
  • Inquisitor secret entrance; might run into inquisitors
  • Hidden servant entrance
  • The front door with magic detectors
  • Traps/inconveniences:
  • Fanatical servants
  • Guards
  • Inquisitors and the Grand Inquisitor
  • Where is the emperor?
  • In the throne room overlooking the city
  • has 2 ceremonial guards stationed outside the doors
  • WE WILL BE FIGHTING HIM IN HIS LAIR
  • ------------------------------------------------------------------- Plan of action:
  • Enter the citadel through the sewers; Theral gives the iron bands to Vic for later; COMMAND WORD IS "I CHOOSE YOU"
  • Balthazar stealths us using pass without trace and invisibility
  • Infilitrate the palace through the servant's quarters; locate the throne room
  • kill god; Theral will contact Sarin with sending once the deed is done
  • Theral uses 'word of recall' to get us back to the ship; otherwise we escape through the sewers
  • Session 50- catacomb crawl, part 3

Nick got a door shut in his face lmao
  • I got a greivous injury
  • Loot obtained:
  • Research notes on how to create a construct; needs refined life essence, which requires alchemically refining blood of the innocents
  • Adamantine bands of soul shackling- KEY ITEM; WILL USE THIS TO KILL GOD; see 'iron bands of billaro'; Theral is holding this
  • A dragon skull?
  • Assorted potions
  • Slate tablet with a sigil on it similar to the door to the tomb (used to deactivate traps)
  • Balthazar still holding the baguette; that shade is still going to chase us

Session 49- Catacomb Crawl, part 2

Fought and killed Bungo the Dread Wraith... for now   Monetary loot: -4 bars of mithril
  • a golden music box
  • a set of ceremonial electrum daggers with onyx handles
  • a brass mug with jade inlays
  • a gold dragon comb with garnet eyes
  • 1000 copper pieces
  • Magic items:
  • Robe of Useful items (8 patches: spell scroll of feather fall, 4 potions of healing, 24 ft ladder, 10 gems worth 100 gold each, 4 potions of healing, riding horse with saddlebags, 4 potions of healing and a 2 mastiff patch)
  • Bands of Found and Lost
  • Elemental gem (yellow diamond)
  • Bronze gryphon figurine of wondrous power
  • Mac-furminin Cittar (instrument of the bards)
  • 3 ounces of sovereign glue
  • --------------------------------------- Took the hewn tunnel from the tomb to another cave system with a bunch of crates and a rusted iron door
  • Door led into a rotating room part of a 3x3 grid
  • made our way to the center and found some preservation magic runes on a plinth with a big ass button; fought some brainy constructs
  • Got to the workshop proper
  • saw some magical symbols I can't recognize
  • some research logs discuss how to bind souls to objects; DM says I could probably use them to replicate whatever practice is being done here
  • Rapp found a journal with entries about using "volunteers" on their experiments and something about "soul shackles" binding the soul to a body
  • Found a key that got us into the main room; there was a ghost inside of a gnome artificer
  • Session 48- Catacomb Crawl, part 1

    Started exploring the dungeon
  • Ran into skeletons and traps but made it to the main sepulcher decorated with heroic halfling images
  • A hole has been blown outwards from the sepulcher which leads to a tunnel going down
  • The tunnel looks like its been dug by drilling tools; the fresco has been shattered off the tomb wall a long time ago
  • A large stone door leads to the main chamber all depicting the same individual; script on the door reads "here entombed lies Bungo, drinker of fine mead, slayer of that one wolf who lived on that big ass hill, and founder of Breadlin. May he rest eternally."
  • other figures on the doors have diamond shaped slots that need to be filled in order to open it
  • Got to fight some wights who've been parts of bungos adventuring group
  • Going to fight Bungo himself, we're probably fucked
  • Session 47- Getting that Bread(lin)

Got to the boat; Rapp opened a door and took a bunch of lightning damage
  • Met back up with Theresa and dropped off our magic items
  • Went to see Cerin who saw Monomon and had a seizure then started spouting prophecies out:
  • "The fiery orb descends, its glow fades toward oblivion. The yearning shades extend in final exhalations. The blades of ebony herald the encroachment of the abyssal night.
  • Hear the beckoning of destiny. Seek the radiance that dispels the dark within the remnants of most glorious triumph and destructive failure."   Our next objective: go to Breadlin and pick up the trail of an artificer who went missing during the war while trying to craft a god killing weapon
  • Reached out to the magic pulse while traveling; got the impression that whatever is emitting the signal is one-way only; could be coming from inside the necro-tempest or from the mountains
  • Arrived in Breadlin to a surprising amount of greenery; city seems to have a general sense of fear about it (and not from us)
  • Went to see an informant at the Itchy Goose tavern; Turns out the empire was clearing the old city to build some dueling grounds and stumbled upon an ancient labyrinth dispensing skeletons
  • Undead were extremely rare in old Ionnivar, so this amount of skeletons is surprising
  • Rapp and Balthazar went to check out the dueling grounds with the skeletons
  • Turns out there's a tomb under there; Balthazar took a rubbing of some symbols in a 4x4 grid
  • Symbol translations:
  • War/Danger, Safety/shelter, Fey, Fire
  • Decision, Goblins, Death, Chaos
  • Guardian, Safe passage, Camping place, Religious site
  • The Air, the Sun, The earth, the water
  • Monomon and I checked out the library to drum up leads on our missing artificer
  • Found a sketch of the old city layout; turns out the dueling grounds were built on top of "the vault of the great hero" dedicated to Bungo, the founder of Breadlin
  • Bungo led a group of 4 adventurers famed for "slaying that one really big wolf that lived over that hill"
  • Session 46- Egopolis (100 years later)

Arrived at Egopolis 100 years into the future; seems like something is affecting our magic items causing them to not work
  • Citizens are wearing a single long strip of white fabric along the forearm; these have some type of magic on them
  • Made our way to the city center; buildings are taller than usual and made out of red bricks; we are drawing a lot of undue attention due to our gear/outfits
  • The grand station is gone, replaced by a massive plaza
  • A god-like figure gave a speech about the 100 year anniversary of the "wicked" false gods; apparently the gods are still around somewhere
  • Walked around the city and learned the following:
  • Saw a play about the final battle between Hugon and Jericho in Cabalia; a battle went on many days with the whole city of Cabalia being destroyed as a result; Hugon slew Jericho but was severely injured
  • After Cabalia was destroyed, the mountains collapsed all their entrances and cut themselves off, Arclock among them
  • Felt a pull when I tried to use my magic far in the southeast of the continent; said fuck it and went west instead towards a tower that might not even be there
  • Got stopped by an old Water Genasi (Nick) on our way out of the city named "Devon"; brought his "groceries" to his home and got approached by a female half-elf who looks similar to Cel
  • Turns out it was Vic and Cerin, Cel's grandaughter who is a priestess of Coline
  • --------------------------------------------------------------------- What happened in the 100 years since we've been gone: 2 linked events kick us off: Jericho's avatar dies in battle and the Soul Forge was destroyed by Vic and some commandos
  • The destruction of the soul forge caused a shift in Empire mentality; offered incentives to joining the empire instead of conscription
  • - Without the soul forge, soulstones became infinitely more valuable; many contraptions disassembled to create "core stones" that vent magic into the cities to keep the wraith mist at bay - Groups of the Resistance form after this point- a bunch of different groups in a united front against the Empire; named "Fiva" - Not sure what happened exactly, but Hugon disappeared for a few months after the battle and no one knew where he went, not even his lieutenants
  • Vic continues to the towers to repair them; restores a few
  • Defeated the unseelie Fey queen corrupting the forest where we disappeared
  • Came across a tower that was shattered to pieces by an unimaginable force; other towers were destroyed in a similar way;
  • Without any functioning towers, the ambient world magic decreased over the year
  • A great mist began to cover the land; firstly only appeared at night but then was constant; at night, wraiths began to appear in the mist; dubbed the "wraith mist"
  • - Wraiths come out at night; only places that are safe are "core stone" cities and settlements built in defensive measures; wraiths also don't like water, so most of the population lives along the coast
  • 2 sources of magic exist: Divine power and soul stones
  • - Magic is less common as the empire controls who learns it   My questions:
  • What happened to the Lightning Road? The roads still exist, but the Conductor and train disappeared with the tracks falling into disrepair
  • What happened to Ryker? Ryker is "under control"
  • What happened to Arclock? Nobody knows! The mountains were closed off and the mist exists so who cares? All we know is that the wraith mist can't penetrate the mountains.
  • Where did the wraith mist come from? Despite years of research, no one knows! Seems to correlate with a lack of ambient magic
  • ---------------------------------------------------------------------   During our catch up, Vic gets a note about meeting someone in the sewers; we go there
  • Meet Thelsius, one of Vic's personal recruits who went deep undercover by joining the imperial inquisition; slowly worked his way up the ranks by getting his higher ups assassinated
  • Gave us information on an artificer who was trying to make a god killing weapon; disappeared during the war; last seen in Breadlin
  • Traveled north out of Egopolis to a lake with a boathouse; boathouse held some seaplanes built by Theresa; we fly out to the Fiva HQ which is our old warship!
  • The pulsing feeling felt in Egopolis is much stronger here, pointing to something under the water
  •

    Session 45- Dailili

Fought and killed Dailili; The wolf has told us that we must cross the Sea of Vines to a lighthouse that will take us home
  • After killing Dailili, the sea of vines disappeared, replaced by a forest of juniper trees
  • Crossed the Juniper sea to the lighthouse; somehow 10 times taller than we thought and shining with technicolor light
  • Stepped inside and got to the top floor; bunch of trinkets/things from Endercoast are already here; an inverted crystal pyramid sits in the middle of the room
  • 3 people are already here: Lord Cals, Dan and Monomon
  • Inspecting the trinkets around the lighthouse show that they represent the city and its people itself Touched the crystal and put it to a vote; sent back to Egopolis to find it was conquered by the Giff empire; turns out we've been gone for about 100 years

Session 44- Fighting the shadow guy with a really long name

    Clue's in the name dumbass
  • Nick lost his shadow lmao
  • Gained shadowdrinker, a very rare dagger; gave it to Balthazar
  • Session 42- Eve of War

Went back to Endercoast and everyone seems on high alert; apparently the Mayor has gone missing somehow
  • Huck has declared martial law and thinks the sentinels had something to do with it; the North and the East sides are barricaded off; tensions are high
  • Split up: Rapp went to speak with the Sentinels while Rhugar and Theral went to the Town Hall to investigate the mayor's disappearance
  • RAPP:
  • Spoke to Hermoine; she claims Huck disposed of the mayor in a power play and scapegoated the sentinels
  • "Witnesses" claim once Endercoast got stable resources, Huck tried to persuade the mayor into a large scale investigation into a "crime" and allow him to make any arrests he wished
  • Mayor said no and Huck supposedly arrested him for corruption
  • Huck has also been distributing propaganda stating the sentinels are responsible for the mayor's disappearance
  • THE REST OF THE PARTY: Scoped out the outside of the Town hall and noticed the Mayor's office was ransacked Spoke with Commissioner Huck about the situation. What he knows:
  • 2 days ago, some clerks came into city hall and noticed the Mayor's office was ransacked. The guards believe that the Sentinels of Equity have made a power play.
  • The guards found some scraps of fabric supposedly belonging to Sentinels clothing; can't detect if he's lying or not
  • Delivered an ultimatum: if they don't respond with 2 days the guards will storm the sentinels compound
  • Mayor's office investigation:
  • No signs of a fight
  • Desk is looted and the ledger is gone; find a secret switch inside that opened a bookcase
  • Behind a bookcase is a safe; used knock to open it- it was empty!
  • Bookshelves contain a lot of books on magical theory; pocketed those for my library
  • The window show an outline of a bootprint and the windows can open; the window was unlatched, meaning someone could come and go from outside
  • Papers strewn about aren't important; suspiciously so... someone might have left them there as misdirection
  • Outside the window, caught on one of the branches in the bush is a small piece of purple fabric
  • Apparently the mayor has a daughter named Babydoll who ran a store specializing in high end fashion just off Main Street; went to investigate that
  • Turns out we're being tailed by a guard; Rapp split off to investigate while we wrapped up our day
  • Went back to the fashion shop with Rapp. He broke in while I stood guard out back. Found nothing out of the ordinary aside from a white dress made from sheer white silk; took a sample and gtfo'd
  • END OF DAY 1   Snuck my familiar into the guard house; the guards had some sort of power play involving the mayor that went awry, so they're making a move to take out the sentinels now
  • Used my last Legend Lore scroll to get more info on Mayor Attercat- came from humble beginnings to being elected as the mayor; had a daughter who he cared very much for, to the point where it affected the city; daughter found something that made her happy in the Feywild; The mayor fled the city
  • Searched the mayor's house and found a letter from his daughter; she's eloping with an eladrin who visited her store
  • Session 41- Amogus

Got tasked to catch a spy by Lord Cals in exchange for him helping Endercoast Main suspects (and who is investigating them):
  • Anamnest Nogilny - Rapp- was the spy; Cals kinda murdered her
  • Rolf Dugnutt - Balthazar
  • Dustice - Rhugar
  • Bug - Theral- fairly confident Bug is not the spy
  • Everyone then split up and started investigating --------------------------- Investigation notes:
  • Lord Cals apparently has "no true enemies", but his most hated enemy is Dearest Gran due to the fact that she meddles in people's shit by giving them immortality/cutting life short
  • Rolf Dugnutt is a "dream guardian" who sends nightmares to people Lord Cals wants to feel fear. Dugnutt is always partially dreaming and awake; one eye dreams, another is awake.
  • - Rolf is kind of a fucked up dude with some fucked up problems
  • The court is located in a frozen moment of time. No one knows how it was frozen aside from Cals.
  • Bug is an oni that guards the court from intruders. She is apparently more compassionate than she says she is. I can find her patrolling around the Litter and the Peat, particularly near the broomgrounds.
  • Dustice is a nothic who spends its time in the observatory. Apparently he is a simp for some satyr.
  • Anamnest is obsessed with translating an ancient progenitor language of the ruined civilization.
  • Lord Cals has a godson living in Endercoast; might be related to the kid Bug tried to kill earlier
  • Apparently Lord Cals hates himself because he's an immortal being
  • ---------------------------- After excising the spy, Cals gave us a task of killing 3 immortal beasts to spite Dearest Gran so he can capture her: The ancient boar, the ancient wolf and the shadow

Session 40- Meeting the Litter and the Peat

Woke up from being unconscious; learned that I can command the tree through my emotions
  • The tree seems to be somehow linked to my keep as a whole, somehow one and the same; kind of a focal point; the fort's name is the Dragontree Keep
  • Can channel 9 levels worth of spell slots into the tree to teleport it a certain distance to a location we're familiar with in a blast of thunder and lightning; only I can channel spell slots in this way
  • Used my newfound power rightaway to teleport us back to Endercoast
  • Tried to gather some books and it turns out my thesaurus is some type of book creature; named it 'Roach'
  • Not sure what this creature does, but it's friendly to me so it can tag along for now.
  • Wandered around in the Feywild for a bit to find the Litter and the Peat
  • Ran into the greatshield elf once again (Surric) standing at a crossroads leading to nowhere; turns out it was Cirrus in disguise
  • Apparently it's super easy to find the Litter and the Peat- all we have to do is wait, so we waited... in the middle of the road
  • Got attacked by fungus related enemies; after waiting a while, got attacked again and were transported somewhere strange
  • Finally met Lord Cals, who offered us food and water on one condition: We need to rat out a spy in his court...

Session 39- Finding the Litter and the Peat

Set out to find the Litter and the Peat; ran into "dearest Gran" on the way there
  • She has information on the castle I am entitled to; The price is either my Strength or my Shadow
  • Ain't about to give up either of those; turned that offer down right away; pretty sus af
  • Found our old ship as well! Will come pick it up after we're done with the Litter and the Peat and Word of Recall back to it Continued to travel and went down a long spiral staircase into the Feydark
  • The kuo-toa there want 4 shadows for 4 magic items, but Dan interrupted us with a distress call through the scroll
  • Went to Dan's aid and fought some sort of abominable beauty + a tree that fucking smites people
  • After freeing Dan from the fortress, I read my castle deed, then I got branded with a brass dragon eating it's own tail on the back of my hand and got super succ'd of all my magic
  • The fortress then levitated off the ground and teleported away to a forest
  • Session 38- Finding the Insane Clown Posse

Went over to the circus to try and track down Cirrus to see if they'll help the city
  • Met with Hannah, another half-elf leader at the circus
  • She confirmed that Cirrus does come here, but is an infrequent visitor; if we want to find the jester, she told us to 'look for the play in the woods'
  • Apparently Lyra and Cirrus were once engaged until he learned of her godhood and went insane; could be useful?
  • Set out into the Feywild to find the play in the woods
  • Got stuck in some creeper vines
  • Eventually found the stage but no signs of Lord Cirrus
  • Asked the actors who brought us backstage to perform for Lord Cirrus and the court
  • We killed it, so we got in!
  • Cirrus can help in 3 ways: 1. Circus tents for full shelter requirements 2. Set up performances around town which fulfill safety requirements 3. Bless the creativity of the people to fulfill the community requirements Cirrus's theory- what the people of embercoast really want is excitement, unpredictability and chaos; NEED TO PROVE THIS TO GET CIRRUS'S HELP
  • Need to bring evidence to Cirrus to support his theory; have a time limit of 3 weeks
  • The plan: Rapp petitions to the Sentinels, Theral goes to the circus (again), Balthazar petitions the citizens
  • Plan went off without a hitch We are now official courtiers in the Court of Jest

    Session 36-

Went to the Horizon's Edge Eatery for dinner with Hermione, leader of the Sentinels of Equality
  • She wants us to investigate a way to return the city to its original plane
  • The sentinels supposedly have a way to leave/enter the city: be humble, be funny, get an invitation, sacrifice (give something important to you up), serendipity (guided by chance), threshold or truth
  • To return to the city: need to act like we're in a city (DC 10 Charisma throw, failure means no entry)
  • Picked up Magpie and made our way into the Feywild
  • Heading towards the House of the Sun; need to be cheery and full of life to get there
  • Balthazar pulled out the driftglobe and we all fell upwards towards the sun, where the sun questioned us about our ideal futures
  • We then met the star serpent who had us draw from a deck of many things; I gained ownership to a keep somewhere in the Feywild but it's filled with monsters; also got proficiency + expertise with Persuasion
  • Session 35- Catching Up

3 weeks of downtime: Caught up with the people I rescued; Ferdinand gave me a "magic carp" which can survive outside of water; Magpie has a quest for the group: Week 1- Got a quest- Spirited Away- We need to escort Magpie around the Feywild until she can find her brothers
  • Born sickly, so father prayed to something; she got better but her 7 brothers vanished; she supposedly has a way to find them
  • Brothers supposedly turned into birds by an unknown force
  • Week 2- did some research into the Patron Magpie mentioned that transformed her brothers into ravens; learned 3 things:
  • There are 4 Archfey courts. 2 are known: The Litter and The Peat, The Court of Jest, The Tree of Infinity and the Dewdrops
  • The Litter and The Peat- Led by Lord Cals
  • Cals is supposedly the oldest of the Archfey, maybe older than the Feywild itself; very patient to the point of waiting for millenia for something;
  • Court is located in a place frozen in time with non-euclidean geometry from a devastated society
  • The Court of Jest- Led by Cirrus the Jester
  • Cirrus is a complicated individual; court is made up of theatre types and performers; obsessed with providing the best entertainment; Cirrus's jokes sometimes skew into cruelty and mockery
  • Court doesn't have a set position, it just moves around
  • Cirrus generally appears to people as a formless, indistinct clown wearing a wooden mask
  • The Tree of Infinity
  • The big ass tree omnipresent in the distance; most trees in the forest are part of the tree of infinity
  • Led by a dryad called Dailili who appears to people as a tall dryad with magenta eyes; no secret that she wants to assimilate everything into herself
  • The Dewdrops
  • A court of endlessly singing fey creatures who are sycophants to a powerful pixie called Tattlebug Moonflower, princess of the Dewdrops
  • Court travels in a promenade bringing "happiness and joy to all"; in reality it's all destructive storms
  • Followers comprise mainly of kuo-toa and bullywogs
  • Week 3- went to the circus and continued my research
  • Ran into a totally normal laborer who was obsessed about beginnings at the circus;
  • Got a letter from a "secret admirer"
  • Got an invitation to an eatery; supposedly from the sentinels of equality
  • Rumors/Things of interest:
  • There are clowns running around that don't belong to the circus
  • Woke up in an apartment that didn't belong to me with a note that there's an Archfey wandering around the city
  • Session 33- Feet first into the Feywild

Landed somewhere completely alien in a strange forest
  • Vines have climbed onto our ship and are growing on it; Ruhgar and Balthazar are handling it? I went down to check the engines
  • Boat fell out of the canopy; forest floor seems clear of threats for now... aside from giant insects
  • 3 locations to investigate; swirling death vortex over lake, big ass tree
  • Went to investigate the lake; got lost instead
  • Met a half rabbitfolk/half elf who told us not to follow our eyes, called us idiots, refused to elaborate, leaves
  • Got to the lake about 20 minutes later due to the rabbit's directions; overhead was a vortex going into nothing
  • Balthazar threw a rock and literally broke the sky; sky refraction revealed a city similar to the Gnomic mercantile group on Ionnivar
  • Sky breaks some more; reflection reverses gravity and DROPS A WHOLE ASS CITY into the Feywild; we black out
  • Came to consciousness buried under the rubble; Balthazar came and fished me out
  • City somehow miraculously landed right side up; most buildings survived
  • A massive turtle made of stone is in the northmost area of the city; recognize the city as Endercoast, a city previously located in the Bay of Driving winds in GMC
  • Got rich off salt deposits and turned into a tourist trap; popular holiday spot for students
  • Approached by the city guard with 2 ways to help: go to the gate and fight monsters OR free people buried in rubble
  • Balthazar freed Jilwocky Niftywoop
  • I freed Ferdinand Crescent and Magpie Ravenwing
  • Went to the barricade and met Turph, then got attacked by a dryad sneaking through the barricade; got sent to see the Mayor Linked up with a group of wizards to cast a protective dome around a city     Important people: Commissioner Heck, leader of the city guard
  • Some sort of schism exists between city guard and sentinels of equality
  • Hermione Galanodel, leader of the sentinels of equality;
  • sentinels of equality worship a concept of true equality, not a god
  • Turph Musheen, leader of the union of small business owners Mayor Hitchen Attercat   HINT- CAMPAIGN IS NOT LEVEL SENSITIVE; CAN TALK OUR WAY OUT OF THINGS

Session 32- exiting the Astral Plane

Took a look at the map Fraudblade provided
  • Would take us a month of constant travel to get to the transition point from the hub
  • Last 2 weeks are beyond known settlements
  • Found a stowaway on our ship; brought him in front of the crew
  • Found a goblin by the name of Ruhgar; put him to work in our crew
  • Claims he's from Ionnivar; remains to be seen
  • Pulled into a village that was built on a top of a rock covered batwhale
  • populated entirely by void ghosts- pilgrims who died and turned into ghosts but kept their memories; if they leave the astral sea they disappate
  • What the locals know:
  • There's a rock nearby that holds a nest of tigers
  • Supposedly a shark sometimes comes through town; not hostile until you bother it
  • Encountered a rage tempest with a large creature on our way to the rotation point Got to our rotation point and started exiting the Astral Plane
  • saw some weird shit
  • Supposedly got home?

Session 31- To find a Fraudblade, part 2

    Finally out of combat
  • Killed an entire fortress worth of guys + a young blue dragon
  • Found Fraudblade, a seemingly blind air genasi with 2 eyepatches
  • Seemingly got himself imprisoned in order to break into a vault presumably full of gold
  • Hoard was trapped; got hit by 2 separate lightning spells
  • Findings from Fraudblade:
  • Can only use our rotation device on the mirror floor of the Astral
  • 2 ways to get back: retrace our steps and rotate into our sphere or find arcology towers that are sucking our sphere's magic in a magical vortex
  • Fraudblade has seen such a vortex on a sphere on the edge of mapped space; "very creepy" place
  • supposedly attacked by "giant lizards with butterfly wings"
  • Hoard contents- in the Discord

    Session 30- To find a fraud(blade), part 1

A month of downtime begins- I spent mine sending Steve to fight in the ring to make some money and researching things at the Skullcracker Library
  • Made some money back
  • Went to pick up our boat; named it the Starcutter Endurance After much hassle, went down to the Hub's docks to find Fraudblade; found his first mate who took us back to his boat
  • Apparently Fraudblade has been captured by the Dragon Empire and being held at a fortress outpost
  • Set out with the pirates to bust him loose; somehow Dan returned to us with his new band
  • Stormed the Gambler's Key to find and free fraudblade. Currently in combat rn   Rapp is acting stranger than normal; he either needs god or a cleric, preferably both

    Session 29- The ship-building episode

Got to the Hub and wandered into Roger's Astral Shipyard
  • Turns out our ship is too small to fit a rotation device; will need to go back tomorrow for a ship appraisal
  • Rapp got harassed by pamphleteers from the Union of Animated Objects   Wandered around town and came across:
  • A bar hosting a bloodsport
  • A museum with a LOT of interesting things in it:
  • - A recreation of a ship belonging to Captain Greyshrike, the leader of the Hub traders who defended it against a Mind Flayer attack - A set of gear from a particular sphere - Some recovered Far-realm items including a mind flayer robe and skull - A bunch of monster bones including a beholder skeleton - A set of Platemail with leaves growing out of it; supposedly the armor of the 'Green Knight' - A blade called the MockingBlade which amplifies insults - A robe made out of dragon scales supposedly belonging to an ancient Red Dragon who was a part of the Dragon Empire before it fell - A whole section dedicated to Astral mechanics including maps and parts to an automated map   Traded the auto map for 60,000 gold Commisionned a custom built ship for said 60k gold; will be ready in 1 month
  • Got drinks afterwards at a bar run by a void dragon; Rapp passed out drunk, Balthazar turned into an idiot and I developed an intense interest in Balthazar
  • Session 28- Towards the Hub

Stanley went overboard into a Jittersigil and got trapped
  • Got him out of it but he suffered from side effects for the next 9 hours
  • Spotted a ship in the distance that is 100 meters from our location and rapidly approaching
  • Brown wood ship with 2 masts, square sails/rigging
  • flying a 'flag with a winking face' and a logo of 'Merfolk and Merrow Incorporated'
  • Helmed by a man with blue skin, a tattered red vest and a tricorn hat, Captain Merc, captain of the Merr-chant
  • Turns out Monomon + Clonk are somehow traveling with him! Merc found them stranded in the Astral Plane!
  • Got onboard the Merr-chant then got attacked by mind flayer pirates
  • Outran the pirates
  • Traveled the week and then got to the hub, a city in the skull of a progenitor god Merc handed me a pamphlet and wants our party to start a franchise
  • the grubber's choice
  • the treasure seekers
  • the alluvial emancipators
  • Need to find a wizard somewhere in the hub to transport us back to our world OR find a boat with a rotation device in it
  • Showed Merc the map; he deemed it as junk but maybe there's more to it
  • Session 27- Lost in Astral Space

Been walking in a large circle and came across my own things
  • Been stuck on hold for an indeterminate amount of time
  • Later joined by Rapp and Balthazar who teleported in
  • Talked for a while; need to find a device to escape the Astral Plane
  • Got transversed to a flat, mirrored surface with a bunch of golden clouds that look like an ocean surface; aka a random spot in the Astral
  • Walked around for a while until we heard a voice
  • Turns out it belongs to Dan who wants to sell us a STOLEN used rowboat named "Experiment 00-12"
  • Dan got kicked out of Magethon apparently for some reason he won't disclose
  • Got going into the Supernal Above in the boat and Rapp got smacked by a map; has a note from Jericho on it stating "Good Luck. Don't Die."
  • The map is out of date by 4000 years; need to find 4 waystations to triangulate it
  • --------------------------------------------   During our travels: Came across the wreckage of a trader ship pilfered by Mind Flayer pirates
  • all things of value taken, but did find 1 survivor named Stanley and took him onboard
  • a random set of animated luggage followed us and popped a squat in our boat
  • Got to a small port town but no one seems to be home; could not find a single soul or piece of food in the houses
  • Turns out a mind flayer took up residence in town and did something to the townfolk; we took care of it and found a new ship upgrade
  • Also found a map leading towards the "hub"
  •

Session 26- Vic's literal inner demon(s) + a surprise vacation to the Astral Plane

Continued to follow the rock after our nighttime ambush
  • We continue to get fucked with by forest denizens
  • Met up with Rigel the rabbit who led us to a tree with rave windows in it
  • Contraptions outside the tree are some sort of dreamcatchers; arranged in a way to funnel dreams to a certain point; often used in divination
  • Autumn knights showed us a map of a small city with a big tower built in the fey-architecture style
  • The mission: Ronando and friends will get everyone out of the palace, we'll sneak towards the queen through secret tunnels, then we jump out and GANK EM!
  • Into the dungeon!
  • Immediately attacked by 2 cactuses and some moss
  • moved on then got stopped by an invisible wall; turns out pixies have been following us and want us to get their stuff back before we move on
  • While trying to get sweet stuff back from the evil pixies, Vic went down and came back as Ryker, the cat Demon King; caused by the crown curse, armor curse and his lycanthropy
  • Not sure what caused him to be summoned but I need a contingency before Ryker goes berserk and kills us all
  • Not sure if Vic even exists anymore; need to find a way to get Vic back... or a way to exorcise Ryker
  • So I grabbed a ceramic piglet and I threw it in a bag of holding; turns out it was an extradimensional space and I am now stuck in the Astral Plane.
  • Turns out this classifies as planar travel; is a big no/no
  • I have to rely on my friends to bail me out
  • I have no idea what the fuck to do

Session 25- A new quest (feat. happy tree friends)?

After beating the autumn knights, given a stone and told to meet somewhere
  • the rock is a Rock of Homing bound to a location we're supposed to go to
  • A messenger greeted us in town and gave us a message from the Empire; persuaded him to give us the message
  • Message from our "lawfully elected representative" called the Weaver
  • Basically he's our lawyer for all the war crimes we've supposedly committed and resisting communism
  • Wants us to turn ourselves into the closest "law enforcement"; if we don't surrender within 1 week "seekers" will be deployed to detain us
  • The rock guided us into the forest for 3 days until we got to a mountain
  • the rock then sent us over the mountain towards the Autumn forest
  • came across a stream with water that puts you to sleep
  • got picked on in the forest by something
  • Got attacked by Weretigers during our long rest
  • Session 24- Towards the black forest

    During the trip:
  • Giff are supposedly getting off the train at the capitol; need to ensure they actually get off there
  • Balthazar supposedly saw a short-stack ghost
  • Newspaper on train shows a new emergency director has been "elected"- Claudia Hawthorne; martial law declared A fleet is being assembled to go east across the sea and flee because of the war Traveled towards the tower; ran into a farmer in a village who is having some sort of 'critter' problem
  • The creatures are small and only come out at night; found our culprit and followed it into the forest
  • Came into a clearing where the tracks vanish; a tent made of leaves and a campfire is set up next to a pile of stolen food
  • Turns out a talking raccoon was the culprit; wants to test adventurers to help him liberate the Autumn Court
  • Autumn Knights roster:
  • Ronando the raccoon, leader of the autumn knights
  • Badgerlore the barbarian badger
  • Squippy the wise squirrel
  • Otto the otter
  • Ferrow the weird fox
  • Rigel the rabbit
  • Fought 1 on 1 duels with the Autumn Knights; won 5-2

    Session 23- Tower hunting

After temple was raised into sky, came back inside to food and a map of the continent
  • First tower we're going to is the tower of the wilds in an unexplored region
  • TALKED FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR ABOUT FUCKING TRANSPORTATION AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  • Finally got on the train; stopped at Dragonsridge and saw 6 Giff board; according to Rapp, apparently they're searching for Monomon
  • Staying in a cabin on the 1st floor of train; cabin doors warded by tower glyphs
  • Session 22- Para Bellum, Part 3

After beating skeleton, got a warning from my wristwatch about excessive abyssal energy
  • the ambient magic has gotten much higher; who knows what that means
  • Found another room with a powerful magic seal; balthazar disabled it; door led to a library
  • There was a display case inside; tried to catapult it, got attacked by books instead
  • Rapp fought a bed; lost?
  • Vic fucking died by lightning bolt; I fucking died by magic missile
  • We both made it out ok; bookcase was holding a tome of knowledge with 3 questions left Retrieved the spear and gave it back to the sphinx; Vic has developed a strange interest in my bag of holding
  • Got TP'd back to our reality; Divon got caught for some fucking reason; need to bail him out
  • Turns out we were gone for ONLY AN HOUR
  • Vic rifled through my bag and stole the crown + book
  • will figure out repercussions later
  • Returned to the sphinx's lair and went down the staircase to a large domed room containing a ornate stone building
  • Flanked by a metric shit-ton of statues; easily a couple thousand
  • central building carved with reliefs of battle; one section features curved horn humanoids similar to ones found on Bellum
  • --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Went deeper into the structure and found Jericho just chilling on a throne
  • Went to Bellum and wiped out another race because they tried to invade ours; gives me sus vibes
  • Jericho revealed that Monomon is a shard of the god Colene
  • Bombshell- turns out when the gods last left the world, Hugon (god of humans) and Goba (god o' goblins) avatar's went on PTO
  • Hugon decided to build an empire and Goba apparently fucked off
  • So I guess we're heralds of a new age now , as well as fatebound, nobodies, war heroes, convicted criminals, marked as a whole... yeah Learned the sphinx's name is Zarek and he's also Jericho's butler   Question: how does Hugon tie into the Giff?
  • Gods aren't limited by shape; take preferred forms; Hugon may be patronizing the Giff in order to unite the continent in the Giff empire
  • Question: how do we kill a god?
  • It is possible to kill an avatar and trap a god in the upper planes
  • So Jericho just pulled his entire sanctum from below ground into the air and reawakened all his warforged soldiers   2 options before us: Fixing magical entropy by repairing the generators regulating magic around the world Awakening the avatars of other gods to stop Hugon's advancement and help Jericho

Session 21- Para Bellum, Part 2

    Continued through Azergoth
  • Got into a fight with some knights in the entrance hall; somehow ran into Monomon
  • So Rapp ran off on his fuckin own into the throne room and found some skull with an obsidian crown and a 'silvery metal shaft'
  • pissed something off, idk; he's probably fucked
  • so the skull is alive; turns into a big ass skeleton called the night king; the door locked behind him so like I said, he's probably fucked
  • Rapp throws us under the bus by going invisible; will this save him?
  • So this boss has multiple phases
  • dropped a crown on death, vic really wants it for some reason; threw it in the bag
  • Boss also dropped a silver spear; threw that in the bag also; is it the spear we're looking for?
  •

Session 20- Para Bellum, part 1

Arrived at Bellum and set out towards Azergoth to retrieve Jericho's lightning spear
  • Followed by some fiendish crows while trekking through the forest; something might be watching us
  • Encountered some sort of strange noise rapidly approaching us; turns out it was a murder of crows!
  • Arrived at the castle of Azergoth; TP'd on top of the wall to take a look
  • Someone is still home; main road is cleared of all the ash; evidence of drag marks leading towards the keep
  • Main keep has suffered crater damage on one wing; no windows whatsoever
  • one section of wall is blown inward; similar situation with the iron gate
  • Started looking for the spear
  • Gatehouse was full of non-humanoid skeletons; Rapp swears there is another tabaxi here; "hmm"
  • Drag marks lead to the side wing of the keep; found a rom full of fly-like monsters, pig-like creatures and humanoids covered in gray skin, clawed hands and rashes
  • MAIN KEEP- SIDE WING: 2 rooms on 1st floor Next to the corpse storage was some sort of 'kitchen' with 2 demons inside
  • in kitchen was an altar dedicated to something with a skeleton holding a glowing sphere; body parts arranged on altar in strange patterns
  • 2nd floor:
  • Found some sort of armory full of magic weapons + a demon w/ A. armor
  • MAIN KEEP
  • Walked into an ambush against 3 7ft demons
  • Session 19- it gets put back together?

Since the party is split, the group on the front decided to cut our losses and head back to the boat
  • Rapp managed to make it to the capitol; met up with Divon, Vic's "apprentice"
  • Rapp got into a fight with a robo-assassin
  • Bailed out by the Conductor's butler, brought to the conductor's hideout
  • Was contacted by 'Mr. Skelly' through telepathy; found out he works for the conductor Informed us of the Lost Legion: a folktale originating from the Cabalic Empire
  • A series of disconnected stories about the 1st legion of Cabalia who claimed the country for themselves
  • Disappeared one day for no apparent reason; no officially existing knowledge, many think of it as a myth
  • Mr. Skelly claims that the Lost Legion exists, but cannot tell us all the info because of some ancient accords
  • A temple in Cabalia (Jericho temple) holds a special altar that will open a gateway to a secret location in the temple; Jericho is god of the Leonin
  • Accepted the offer; headed to the nearest Lightning Road station to board the train Turns out Rapp is a thief wanted on multiple charges including TREASON
  • Learn something new everyday, right?
  • Went to the Temple of Jericho at night, was able to get into the old part of the structure
  • Ran into a sphinx (Antheron) guarding the entrance
  • Antheron gave us a quest to retrieve the Lost Spear of Jericho from the ruined citadel of Azer'goth, then proceeded to teleport us away to Bellum
  • Bellum is another world where its inhabitants warred amongst themselves then tried to invade Ionnivar but were rebuked   LEGEND LORE about the fog: Logan will provide info next week

Session 18- it all falls apart

    Details of military reports:
  • Giff are developing something called "project ragnarok" and going to demo it to the Emperor in a month
  • Session 17- The spectral siege

Got through the mists and arrived at the camp
  • Covered in mist; everyone seems to have been turned into dust; living beings touching corpses in the mist seems to cause this
  • Got into the Pallisade at Camp Yellow; found Balthazar alive and well
  • Got everyone inside the main building, turns out we're under siege by a spectral legion
  • Legion is made up of a bunch of different races, including the hippos
  • A corpse found inside the keep who died to apparent suicide was also a part of the legion
  • Took a long rest and the mist had passed afterwards   Picked up some military reports, need to go through them later

    Session 16- bullshit wolves

Met Lieutenant Flan on the front after the fight
  • Informed us about raids where constructs would capture soldiers; happened as soon as fighting started
  • Only capturing live soldiers; 200 to 300 missing
  • Flan doesn't have a lot of information; need to talk to the general of outpost Yellow to learn more Theresa gave us 2 important discoveries: acid hurts the constructs and the mist that we're in may disable constructs While traveling in the mist, RAPP FUGGIN DIED
  • brought him back
  • Got attacked by wolves made of mist; nearly everyone died

    Session 15- Level up!

  • Session 13- Kill the Hippos, Part 3

Killed all the hippos; searched the ship
  • Cleric's room- found a book; will have to translate later
  • Shrine to the hippo god- investigated altar; found some sort of control panel for the circle
  • Captain's Quarters- contained a desk, bookshelves and an armor stand
  • Loot:
  • 4 bottles of "Giffy's high quality shaz"
  • 2 syringes filled with liquid
  • 8 bags of Giff stamped electrum worth 1000 electrum
  • Things to translate: Giff bible- blessing is the "word of the emperor"; NOT AN ENTIRELY TRUSTWORTHY SOURCE
  • Giff have a rigid society; everyone needs a purpose otherwise you're a pleb; those who have exceptional value
  • In exchange for increased societal standing, the blessed are bound to the emperor's will cannot purposefully cause harm to the emperor or empire; most high ranking Giff officials under this blessing
  • Serve the empire faithfully and you'll become a chosen serving the empire indefinitely; book implies that there's never been more than one emperor
  • Deployment orders
  • Phosphorous class destroyer "bringer of light" deployed from Dragonside naval base heading North to investigate a "rogue magical signal"
  • Dated around time that we met Monomon in the tower; stamped with a unique seal
  • Half-written report
  • Report on being stranded on Dragon Isles; 15 constructs lost to "indigenous flora/fauna"
  • "Your constructs and you: a primer on construct warfare"
  • Standard tactics are large swarms of dumb droids with smarter constructs as "managers"; Giff are strictly support engineers or high level staff
  • Flaw in constructs is that they don't have any mounted units; more intelligent constructs are dedicated to other tasks than warfare
  • Not a "proper battle" unless a land dreadnaught is present on the battlefield
  • Constructs bound to obey those who are blessed by the emperor
  • "Uses and Limits of Soulcore power systems"
  • 2 categories of cores: power cores and true soul cores

Took a long rest; went back to guerilla tactics to assault the boat

Session 11- Kill the hippos, pt 1

  • Saw a Giff in heavy power armour
  • Session 10- Petition

Got attacked by some raptors who ran like BITCHES Entered the temple

  • came up to a big room with a similar statue in Tortle town; has description of "all petitioners must bear gifts"
  • bore gifts; altar shifted and we went down to the riddle room; answers were 'promise', 'courage', 'choice'
  • descended into a 20' x 40' hallway lined with pressure plates and small holes
  • came across a stone dais with a bunch of gold next; was warded with abjuration magic; didn't take any
  • walked into some blue mist; aged down Met Azeragoth, the Platinum Serpent (AKA the Sleeper) down in his lair
  • Last petition was 150 years ago; got no more because the world broke
  • Able to transform into a Yuan-ti pureblood with platinum gray hair and symbolic tattoos covering the chest and arms similar to Rapp's magic tattoo + bright blue slitted eyes
  • What Azeragoth knows:
  • Our party is fatebound- we're individuals who have the ability to change the world's meaningful balance
  • Not chosen to be fatebound; just comes to you or is built into you; Dan the deathless is a fatebound
  • World broke through the Precursors trying to create a god; could've happened in the middle of the continent?
  • 2 intelligent races were native to the world before the collapse: the precursors (humans) who enslaved the Giff (empire)
  • Giff are attacking the continent as of 3 days ago; planning an invasion?
  • Pact of Binding- an agreement made by 16 gods to limit the power/influence of interdimensional beings traveling to/from our planet, as well as banning other things; Lightning Train is one such example
  • Someone sent Monomon here, but why? For the power of potentially becoming a god?

Session 9- Washed up on the Dragon Isles

TL:DR- captured by Giff; met their god-emperor; cannot use minor conjuration because chains suppress magic Matt did his thing; got captured
  • Monomon met Dan playing an accordion who appeared in a cell across from him
  • Told him to "seek answers in a sleeping serpent"
  • Dan broke us out; boarded a lifeboat and escaped during a fierce storm
  • Washed up on an uncharted island in the Dragon Isles; taken in by a tortle named Oogwan
  • Brought to a old totrle village with a statue in the middle; statue depicts a coiled serpent in the middle
  • Statue in the middle of town called "the sleeper", patron of this island; to meet the sleeper, make a petition at the temple
  • Petitioners must prove themselves in some sort of trial
  • Learned that Balthazar is not actually a tortle; possibly some sort of dragon
  • Ugone has no info on Balthazar
  • Dragon isles info
  • discovered 100 years ago; populated by native tortles who care for dragons, 1-2 per island
  • Human kingdom has a couple of fortified outposts here

  • Soldiers: Davy, Shannon
  • Being pursued by a ship with no sails out on the water with massive bulges on the sides of the hull
  • Made out of a dark, grey material
  • Crewed by constructs; attacked on the water! Took out our main mast
  • Turns out we're carrying something of value to the empire; unsure of what
  • Got boarded by 8 pointed star people; forced to surrender our weapons
  • Got captured by the 8 star empire (run by Giff had to tear out all the pages of my spellbook; STILL HAVE THEM
  • Balthazar is still free; assumed dead
  • Captain of enemy ship the Bringer of Light is Captain Ognaut; wants us because one of us is a 'being of great interest'
  • Met the God-Emperor who mentioned a breaking of the 'pact of binding' when Monomon got summoned
  • - 16 gods made a pact to stop intrusions from outside this world - Monomon is fatebound to something

    Session 5- Another job

Took long rest; Sophia and Theresa will meet us on the road
  • Talked to Magistrate; paid us 1100 gold in exchange for not telling the town about what happened
  • Traveled to Idander; Cel said she had a new job for us
  • Heard a BOOM when we got close to town; turns out its the magic shops owner's wife (JASMA)testing EXPLOSIVES NEAR A TOWN; Rapp bought 1 for whatever reason
  • Cel tells us more attacks by the same group are happening; talked with Sofia and Theresa
  • Bought a Cloak of Protection and Bag of Holding
  • NEW JOB: We're being sent to an archaeological site to protect Theresa while she researches some magical runes found on newly acquired clockwork armor
  • Runes were related to fire and ice, but arranged in no particular order; possibly related to ancient precursor civilization?
  • Ran into some water genasi idiot named Divon who knows Vic somehow; Vic executed him then he resurrected; long sotry short, we have a new party member
  • Got to the excavation site and saw a half-excavated pyramid that looks like the lightning roads and is inscribed with magic runes similar to those found on the breastplate
  • Did this for a week; Theresa theorized we could get inside if we found a warforged (Clonk) to power the pyramid's opening; clonk takes 1 level of exhaustion opening the door
  • Got inside the pyramid; found a mural depicting a large tower coming out of the landscape projecting light beams; realize the tower is topped by a pyramid we're probably standing in
  • Construct (tower's interface) appeared and welcomed us to the Tower of Dreams; first visitors in several millenia; appears to be some sort of archive
  • Asked it numerous questions, got some answers
  • there was a structure in the void sea at 1 point and the lightning train went to it; no record of naturally occurring magical storms\
  • tower knows about 8 sided star symbol, but DATA EXPUNGED; is related to the precursors
  • Session 4.3- A Rubian Construct, Part 3

FUCK I FORGOT TO SAVE PART 2   Continued to explore Rubian Manor
  • Dagger referenced in the past maybe named 'Athame of Unshackling'
  • Inscription:" I untether that which has no strings so that it may be bound to this plane once more."
  • Red book found on 2nd floor details all types of automatons: Animated amusement, incomplete, infused and perfected automatons
  • Johannes Rubian was using the Athame to steal people's souls and stuff them into automaton bodies
  • WE must destroy the Athame; locked in a lead lined box and sealed in the manor
  • Ran into Frederick and Theresa Rubian; Theresa left us to fight her brother Frederick, who is uber crazy
  • Killed Frederick; party had a little scuffle afterwards
  • Learned through the whispers that the magistrate poisoned the Rubian children; unsure how

  • Learned from Cel that the Guild of Phantoms put out contracts on us
  • Sent by Cel to find Johannes Rubian, former artificer who commissioned for the wealthy
  • I know that Rubian's construct is well known at the university since it was donated for research; coined as a term for the impossible since no one could figure out how it worked
  • Went into self imposed exile 20 years ago
  • Living in the town of Mire
  • Arrived at Mire; Learned that Rubian did something with his family; possibly killed them and rebuilt them as automatons?
  • Summoned to the Magistrate's office, where we learned about 2 strings of disappearances
  • The first string of disappearances started happening after Rubian stopped holding parties, and was hung by the town guards after going mad and covering himself with blood
  • 1st string of disappearances stopped, then the 2nd string started after Rubian's death
  • Learned that another local, August Graves, is attempting to enter the mansion
  • Investigated the site of the most recent disappearance, but found nothing. Headed to Rubian's mansion next. --------Rubian's mansion--------
  • definitely haunted
  • inhabited by clockwork constructs
  • charnel house in the basement
  • Rubian might have been experimenting with fusing metal into man
  • Session 3- A summons to Egopolis

Got back to Gernok; reported what happened to adventurer's league
  • Summoned to Egopolis by Cel Glar-ni-dz, branch director of the Adventurer's League; traveling by lightning train
  • Dan the Deathless barged into our cabin and spoke crypticly; maybe threatened us?
  • - 2nd time he's appeared to us in 2 weeks
  • Arrived in Egopolis and headed straight to the Adventurer's Branch
  • Met Cel Glar-ni-dz, she seems scary and angry
  • - She's not, just has a flair for the dramatic - Told her everything that transpired on the peninsula - Cel swore us to secrecy and told us to come back tomorrow for a full desposition
