Ipharian Belhan

The ipharan belhan is a species that mutated away from the ashtarian belhan because the negative effects that iphars' magic caused to teh ahstarian belhan. They are bigger, faster, and deadlier than the ahstarian version without having to use magic, which helped them grow in numbers unlike ashtarian's numbers.
They are group animals, staying on banks of around 50 individuals. They take care of their childrens until they are sexually mature. If a bank grows too big, it will divide in two smaller banks. They are polyamorous, and the childrens are taken care by all the group, barely remembering who is their mother and not even knowing their father.
Because of the magical mutation, this species has been able to adapt pretty much anyway on the deep oceans of Iphars, enjoying deeper waters far away from land, thankfully they are able to hold their breath for hours. The species has subdivided into subspecies thanks to them being living so far away from other big groups.
Kliran ipharian belhan - they are the ipharian belhan living closest to islands, rarely seen swimming in between the Kliras islands. They are know for playing with boats by rooking them and stealing things that might fall of the boats. Sailors don't see it as playing and tend to try scarying them away. The gatherers of the past are know for working with them.
Deep ipharian belhan - they live between izura and emea on the deepest parts of the oceans. they are the least probable to find near landmasses, and are the ones able to hold their breath for longer, some even for a day.
Frozen Ipharian belhan - they live near the poles, spending a third of the day on ice while the rest underwater. they are the fattest ipharian belhan and don't deal well with heat. they have been seen helping ships that got stuck in ice in exchange of food and seem to be able to comprehend poeple.
Soft ipharian belhan - don't be tricked, they aren't soft at touch (at least not more than the others), but they are nomad belhan that co-live with sirens and ashtarian belhans. They are smaller (more or less like an ashtarian belhan) and are usually pets for sirens. they see ashtarian belhan as their own, unlike the other ipharian belhan who see ashtarian as enemies.
