Chaos centerpiece

A chaos centerpiece is a form of magical trap capable of warping space in the area around itself. After its activation, if installed inside a building, it will shift rooms of the building in an impossible way, forming a constantly changing maze. The only way to escape this trap is to find the chaos centerpiece and destroy it.
There are only eight chaos centerpieces recorded in history. All of them were created by the same person throughout ten years. They were described as glass ball roughly 10 inches in diameter nested in metallic stand. Inside the ball are various shapes moving in unpredictable ways and colliding with each other. The way of creating these devices seemed to die with its original creator.
