Kelna

The tombs are deeply sacred. Once some folks from the north tried to find a way in. Apparently, they succeeded as three days later their charred corpses fell out of the burning windows.

Kelna is a village partially carved into the wall of the eastern mountains in the southern part of Githia. It is one of few settlements that survived in the southern part of the desert after the end of the god wars. As this part of the desert is inhabited by nomadic groups the village is abondand most of the time. Into the stone wall above the village are carved six tombs in which guardians of the village are entombed.
The village is considered a neutral ground among the nomadic groups in the southern part of the desert and any conflicts within its borders are strictly forbidden. This is because the village is the only truly safe place in the south as the desert's monsters never enter the village and it even seems to be warded from sand storms.

History

The village was originally founded during the divine age as a camp for the construction of the six tombs after the death of the guardians. As the construction took a significant amount of time the camp eventually developed into a permanent settlement. Even after the construction was finished the group stayed in the settlement as it seemed safe from the god wars. The village was inhabited for the rest of the divine age and even quiet some time into the divine silence. The group eventually returned to the nomadic way of life for unknown reasons and the settlement became a safe haven and a neutral ground.

Points of interest

The six tombs - Six tombs carved next to each other into the mountainside above the village. The six guardians of the village are supposedly entombed in them. Each tomb is decorated with several windows connected by drawn white lines forming depictions of human-looking constellations. White flames burn in the windows of the tombs each for two lunar cycles as the guardians supposedly change guards.

Climate

The climate is stable all year round. The area reaches as high temperatures during the day as the rest of the desert. However, the temperature does not as drop significantly during the night. The area also do not suffer from sand storms.
