Dire Turtles

The Dire Turtle is a large variant of the sea turtle. They live in warm waters and have jaws perfect for snapping and clamping down on foes, four fins to swim through the water and a mermaid like tail for even faster swimming speeds. They can grow to be as long as 34 feet, matching the size of regular sailboats. Dire Turtles are fierce beasts but the often don't mean to attack. They have very poor eye sight and they often mistake ships for food(they are not the smartest creatures either). Yet no matter the reason the Dire Turtle is a real danger to any sailor. They can rip apart a ship with ease, sinking it to the bottom of the ocean.
