Harpies

Harpies are a horrid type of monster. They look part eagle, part old woman. They hunt near large bodies of water, you can hear them coming as they let out a horrible squawk before diving down to rip apart their target. They are unique as far as monster go as they can speak a crude form of English and they can make simple tools. They are crafty and spiteful.
