Wolden

Woldenshire sits on the west side of the Small River and has for hundreds of years. It's history traces back to the beginning of man and the Wolf Clan of old. Unlike other holds Wolden has opted for sturdy stone walls. This is out of necessity. The woods around the hold are full of beasts and monsters. The people of Woldenshire have been at battle with the beasts of the woods for generations. It is home to the Red Raven smithy, ran by a Benjamin Spearbrave, but most of its residents wish to withstand the cold and make it another season. Its earth is harsh, rocky, and clumpy, making farming a challenge. What the town does have is access to Green Mountain and all its ore and minerals. Most iron that makes up the spears and spades of The Vale is mined from Woldenshire. It is this fact and that has allowed the town to survive even after the Wolf Clan was sacked centuries ago. After the clan was sacked Bulaguard soon to be king came to the broken clan and offered aid to the Wolf Clan so long as they swore oaths to him and his soon to be kingdom. With no other choice the Wolf Clan pledged to Bulagaurd and were able to rebuild.   Woldenshire has a tradition of only having female Ealdormen, no man has every ruled over Wolden or Woldenshire. The current Ealdorman is Syndri. Ealdorman Syndri governs over the town and the land on that side of the Small River. She does not have the largest fyrd to raise but she has a larger Oathgaurd(trained and skilled warriors pledged to her) than any Ealdorman. Syndri and her warriors served well on the Darkest Day and by doing so Syndri has helped to heal the history of her ancestors.
