Mosque Of Eton
Standing on top of the tallest hill in the area, the Mosque of Eton's pale stone walls shine in the sun, spreading the glory of the hunt to all who can see it. Built some 700 years ago, the mosque has always been a place for those devout to Eton or those wishing to have a good year hunting wild game. The mosque is staffed with up to twenty lizardfolk, although other races have studied under the masters here.
Purpose / Function
Pilgrims travel to the Mosque to give thanks to Eton for their success in the past year's hunt and give a sacrafice of their largest kill's heart for prosperity for the new year. The pilgrimage is an easy journey unless coming from the northern village which passes very close to the Troll Mountain Wilds.
Contents & Furnishings
The mosque is sparsely furnished, the center feature is the sacrificial altar. Although it hasn't been used for live sacrifices for years, it is still used for a ceremony praying for a fruitful hunting season.
Valuables
There is not price for using the alter, in the eyes of Eton all are worthy. Thus the only thing valuable here is food stores.
Hazards & Traps
The priests train in simple weapons and marital prowess to defend the temple in case of an incursion.
Architecture
The temple is made primarily of stone gathered from the forested hills in the surrounding area. Carved in to the likeness of the serpentine servants of Eton, goddess of the hunt, the eight foot pillars gaze menacingly upon all those approaching. The faithful priests who live here keep the temple free from debris and repair the wooden supports and roof when need be.
History
The mosque as existed for the at least six generations. No matter the warring party; trolls, lizardfolk, humans, or others, the gods steer the fighting out of the path of this holiest of places.
