Meiontiton
For those who don't live there - and many who do - Meiontiton seems like the end of the world. A small town set near the edge of the northern peninsula, Meiontiton has been near complete isolation since its founding a century ago. Only a single road leads on towards Dieis, its gateway to the rest of Elaion. Those who have made their settlements in Meiontiton live without regular access to the rest of the kingdom, often living solely off the land around them. Some of the upper crust deems it uncivilized. Meiontis consider it adaptation.
Demographics
Meiontiton is solely comprised of lower class halflings, the only place in Elaion to be so uniform.
Government
Though technically still under the rule of the Elaion monarchy, Meiontiton is so isolated that the its inhabitants run it as a basic form of democracy. Many of the laws of the land - those against violent crimes, for example - remain intact, but Meiontiton has its own set of laws. They are ruthlessly strict against poaching, for example, or the taking of more than one is allotted. The protection of the ecosystem around them is essential, as they are so dependent upon it.
Defences
Meiontiton is not well protected against attacks from outsiders, except for the fact that they are extremely secluded from the rest of their kingdom. They have no walls to protect against invaders, but they also have nothing of interest for those who would wish to take a part of Elaion by force.
Industry & Trade
Meiontis typically have no strong desire to interact with those outside of their society. There is a small path through the forest to Dieis, where they might reach other areas of Elaion, but they have nothing to offer other than what they can hunt.
Infrastructure
Meiontis build their shelters within the trees, a trick to help protect them from larger predators. These tree-houses are often single-room, a bedroom for all members of a family. The structures built on the ground are communal - kitchens, places to publicly gather, stables.
History
Meiontiton was established by several families of halflings who were looking to settle somewhere on their own to live off the land. They ended up trekking to the furthest part of the north to reach it.
Architecture
The shelters there are built of wood, from some of the lumber from the surrounding forest, as well as the tree it is built into. New families in Meiontiton - young, newlywed halfling couples, have a tradition of building their house together shortly after their wedding. The stronger the shelter, the stronger the marriage, or so it is said.
