Deity

Deities, gods or the heavenly of Irodan are the most powerful beings in all of Irodan. While often not choosing to make their home of the material plane, they frequently converse and communicate with its inhabitants.
All deities in Irodan fall under one or more of the following domains: Knowledge, Life, Light, Nature, Tempest, Trickery, or War. The domain of the deity is largely decided by what the individual values and wishes to preserve and promote in life. This, then, is represented in the followers of the deity, gaining powers to achieve the deities will.
Though their physical appearance is hardly ever seen by a mortal, their effect on history is undeniable and thus their existence is largely accepted.
The limits, if there are any, are poorly understood. Though it is known that they are not omnipresent nor omniscient, their abilities seem to vary wildly between various deities.
Rumors exist that mortal with exceptional skill in their expertise may be allowed to raise to the status of deity themselves, leaving behind their mortal self. The steps to achieve such a feat, however, have been lost to time.
