Variens mercenaries

Variens' mercenaries was a group of mercenaries who care little for the law and live solely for coin. They consisted of a large group of different types of fighers and mages from different races and regions. Pledging to never truly allign themselves to anyone they listen to but one true leader, gold.
This organisation was created in the name of Varien who once, when the organisation got started, created it and put himself on top as the true hierarchical leader.
This lead Variens' mercenaries to their current state, a wide amount of groups who can be contacted through Variens' peddlers. These peddlers work double as contact persons for the groups and are either owned by specific sub groups or know a wide array of subgroups they can contact. Among a plethora of smaller groups that exist within Variens' mercenaries, the following troupes have made an especially big name for themselves: The dragonlace mercenaries, Oorrs' mercenaries and the dark serpents.

Authoritarian, Varien was on top and everyone was below him.

Disbandment

Inevitably, Variens' corruption and the organizations inherent anti-authoritarian mindset took hold, the pyramid scheme in Variens' mercenaries was undone. Now being leaderless, various other groups attempted to grab the leadership for their own, creating a continuing loop of backstabbing and leaderlessness within the organisation. This continued until the bigger group became so segmented, it shattered into various separate sub-groups.
