Nature of Etheroid

Etheroid - known also as electroid and, in a short and imprecise way, ether - is a highly mysterious form of materialized energy, supposedly discovered first by Franciszek Rychnowski back in 1896. It remained unconfirmed until the 1922, when a new, modernized variant of etheroid theory was finished - and published - by Rychnowski.
It is created in a specialized machines and takes form of a small balls - or slabs, or any other shape depending on the machine - that tends to float a bit above the surface. It is dangerous in that the laws of thermodynamics work pretty quirky on it, and unless counter force is applied, even slightly pushed ball of etheroid is going to travel quite far.
It is also quite plastic and soft, but has a memory of form and unless 'proper' procedure is taken, it will return to its prior form. The part about 'proper' procedures also includes carefully 'aligning' it to empower only certain properties is its main downside - each drop of etheroid is extremely valuable, and both the etheroid collectors (that collect raw electroid) and refineries (that align it) are of value that's beyond strategic.

Effects of Etheroid

The biggest problem of the etheroid is the fact that Kingdom of Poland science and thaumaturgy is a bit lagging behind most major participants. It lacks financing, and the permanent paralysis of the government makes creating dedicated organization for thaumaturgical progress something troublesome.
Because of that there are many undiscovered elements, and the more detailed parts of the etheroid theory (and practice) are very unsure and prone to changing. Some things are however as sure as the fact that Earth circles around the Sun.

• Empowerment of Physics - Etheroid is a fuel of physics. When there is more of it, all sort of natural processes are more bountiful. There are some effects of an attempts of focusing this effect on certain processes only - for example an artillery round supposed to penetrate bunkers... whose speed and the effects of gravity on it are empowered - but using raw etheroid is still EXTREMELY dangerous.

• Acceleration of Healing - Etheroid is also a powerful option for healing. Humans can be empowered as well. While it required specialized form of etheroid attuned to that particular type of wound/exhaustion, the effects are borderline miraculous. On the level of a gunshot wounds disappearing completely in few minutes. Resurrection, however, is not possible. It can also be used to counter many diseases.

• Empowerment of Humans[ - A troublesome and long process, that also brings at least some moral doubts. A person can be infused with etheroid, its natural processes - from healing wounds to production of energy to power up all improvements - carefully tunned to avoid the whole thing collapsing altogether. An effect is essentially a supersoldier that nothing short of headshot can kill. Inhuman strength? Ability to stop breathing for twenty minutes when for example under water? Wounds closing on their own? Yes, to all of that.

• Improvement of Materials - Etheroid can be used to improve materials by powering up some of the things they are characterized with. An example would be making metal plates more resistant to impact or penetration (used in tank and hussar armours and so on), making sure that an explosive material is even more explosive and so on.

Theories on Etheroid

There are currently two main theories about its nature - religious and secular. Secular describes it as a materialized power source behind everything that exists, moves and works. Gravity is powered by the etheroid 'fuel' (practically infinite). The biological reactions behind one's body working is fueled by etheroid as well. All change and action described by science is powered by etheroid in its free form.
Religious interpretation - more and more popular as the world seems to be going straight to hell - sees the etheroid as an aftermath of Creation. A literal God's finger in the works, supplying what He make with power. God made the universe, but he is not part of it, he is beyond that. He merely carved the world from a part of his power - and the invisible threads behind laws of physics, nature of life and so on is etheroid.
