Manufacturing process
First the blade needs to be forged, with a large flat spike protruding from the butt end. This end is then slid into the handle, which can be made from anything, and fixed in place by pouring tar, melted pewter, or sap into the hole in the handle with the blade. A fuller or cannelure can be carved into the center of the flat part of the blade, usually a unsharpened 'back' of the dagger is used to replace the fuller. Blades can also be attached by pounding the blade until stuck in a wooden handle, or simply tying the blade to the handle.
Significance
Can be used for sacrificial rituals, but mostly is the most mundane weapon.
