Lost Sword of Yllvalion

When the day finally came that we laid the savior of the Elven Kingdom to rest, the city of Yllvalion wept with centuries of tears. Alaric Ylyndar stood with grace and loyalty, to his people, his clan, and the kingdom that he protected from the Giants when so many other men ran from the fight.

He was laid to rest with his famed blade, Stormrender, clutched to his chest and held tight like a knight. As the city paid its respects, the blade faded, disappearing in the deep of the night. No one had dared touch such a sacred weapon, one granted upon Alaric by the Elven King, but prophecy spoke to the seers of the city, telling them the story of Alaric's sword.

Stormrender will return to the city from whence it came, but only once the need for its strike has come again. When the Giants of the north raise their fist against the Elves, the blade will appear to the one who will lead the Knights of Yggdrasil with the fire and grace of Alaric Ylyndar.

Stories abound about the lost sword of Alaric Ylyndar, but children of the Ylyndar Clan know that one day Stormrender will return. It is the prophecy of the clan that has lasted for generations, surviving conflicts and the Eldritch War. Even through the battles with the Eldritch horrors, no one questioned where the sword was, knowing that it would come when the Giants raised their ugly heads.

Historical Basis

Many of those that have the ability to see the future in Yllvalion are trusted by the Knights of Yggdrasil and the Ylyndar Clan. There is a deep historical basis for trusting in the prophecy and knowing that when the time has come, Stormrender will appear to the one that will serve in Alaric's stead.
