Magic Philosophy

Classroom of the Starlit Tower

Another room tucked amongst hundreds, doors shrouded by thick velvet curtains, deterring those that want only a simple peek into the room instead of delving into the subject matter at hand. The stuffy anteroom lined with thousands of dusty tomes is not for the faint of heart. It is but an entrance into a living library, one specially curated by the current headmaster to ensnare the mind and make those who enter here question their magic and its uses. The philosophy of magic is a deep subject, not for all that enter the classes of the Starlit Academy, but some students will find their destinies while hidden amongst the stacks of tomes.   Here within the wandering rooms of this library, one can learn all that is known to the mortals of the philosophy and truth of magic. Only the Divine Races hold more information on this truth, their archives locked away in deep wells of wisdom granted to them by the gods. Amongst the room of the Starlit Tower, an almost complete archive exists, attempting to share even a small piece of the divine's wisdom with those whose lifespans are nothing by a blink of an eye to those that hold the world's secrets.   This library was once small, nothing more than a previous headmaster's personal library and collection, but Alexander Cross did not believe in such secrecy or removing wisdom from those that would benefit from it. His travels and own studies brought forth volumes, dusty tomes, and scrolls from around the world, each a building block in the brilliant library that now stands. All who enter the Academy have the opportunity to enter the stacks and learn as much as they can, but it is a daunting task that few take, but those who do find fulfillment in the parchment and leather.

Design

The room known for Magic Philosophy is less a classroom like the others and more of a far-reaching library, one that spans an indefinite number of rooms. It is said that the wandering library grows as needed, adding additional rooms and shifting the books as needed as new entries are added. In some ways, the room is sentient, leading students directly to the section they need or dropping specific titles in the reading nooks when needed.
