Rinnemancy

Blending magical knowledge with engineering and architecture, Rinnemancy once allowed the first peoples who shaped empires in Isesda to craft things that were more than just constructed things, but inherently part of creation woven into the story of Eledra itself. There were at least three groups known to have utilized Rinnemancy to some degree: the drakes of Dralis in central Raiven, the ancient goblinkin kingdom in eastern Derathain, and an ancient people whose name is lost to history that spread their influence across the southern Raivanni coast from Hightower all the way to the Vellan peninsula. The most visible leagacy of the anchient art of creation is in the enduring structures left behind by these lost civilizations. The best known, the towers in western Axia, seem nigh indestuctible to any present capabilities seen in the mortal world. These towers are known to have unique properties. All contain a pleasant environment regardless of the weather outside and contain enchantments that illuminate the living spaces within without need for lamps or oil. These, of course, are not the sort of enchantments thare are without magical precedent, but they seem to have no obvious magical source and require no maintenance. Beyond this, Redtower, for example, holds the capacity to channel magical energies more efficiently than most places on Isesda. Enchantments crafted within its chambers seem to hold more firmly and result in greater potence. Magical writings penned therein are naturally more resilient and seem to be easier to comprehend, though this last effect may be attributed to the aptitude of the mages who study there as easily as supernatural influence. Another excellent example is the dwarven city of Vegdan, built in the ruins of ancient Dralis in the heart of Raiven. Ruins is perhaps an inappropriate word for the ancient city though. The dwarves tell how even after long years abandoned in the mountains the city seemed in perfect condition. The gardens may have grown wild and looters and would-be dragonslayers had destroyed much, but the city itself, its roads, buildings, and foundations, remained strong as though newly formed. Those who visit Vegdan are astonished at the ancient grandeur of the place and even though the dwarves have done their best to modify it to suit their less titanic needs it is clear which elements are modern additions as they break down and require care to maintain. Not all creations attributed to Rinnemancy are architectural in nature. The ancient Derathaini goblinkin built what has become the palace of Derath City and much of its greatest features are thought to have been a version of Rinnemancy, but where the true greateness of the goblins lay was in the making of art and tools. Beautiful creations of the ancient world from the age of the avatars have been uncovered in western Derathain, inscribed with an archaic variation of gobbo, often depicting great events from the godswars or the ages that followed. Codecies of legends have been found and are even now being translated by gob scholoars in the capital. All show little damage and indeed show a brilliance that initially led researches to claim they were modern forgeries. Even things as simple as cooking implements or woodcutting axes have been discovered. Some Gob, Hob, and Bog families even have ancestral emblems or arms that have been passed down for countless generations which clearly show Rinnemancy in their craftsmanship. Though the details of Rinnemancy are now lost, it is known to be more than simply more arcane arts. Magical research into locations and items that owe their creation to Rinnemancy has shown that something more incredible is present within these things. Though a great deal of masterful work went into the physical fabrication of these items relying on craftsmen of surpassing skill their magical nature has only one modern analog, items crafted by the Children themselves. This is why some refer to Rinnemancy as the craft of divinity.
