Bogberry

A near famous fruit found in the Fang Marsh, the bogberry is known for it's refreshing, near medical properties, and it's harshly bitter flavor. Part of the legend behind the bogberry is for the man known first as Paren, after playing a pivotal role in the Battle at Plaza and allowing for many civilians to flee the slaughter he led them to his home in the Fang Marsh where he led an effort to find new places for these newly displaced peoples but many wanted to stay, and together they would construct the town of Boghome. But this place would constantly be on the line of survival and only making it thanks to Peron's knack for finding these life giving berries, eventually the correlation between him and the berries became so strong he took "Bogberry" as his surname.

Growth Rate & Stages

People unfamiliar with bogberries sometimes aren't always sure when they are okay to eat. Luckily due to their prevalence a helpful saying has emerged "If they're floating on the bog, you won't get sicker than a dog."

Ecology and Habitats

Only grows in extremely damp conditions, as the berries will only grow if at least mostly submerged in the nutrient rich bog water.

Average Height

Up to 10 feet tall, however usually only 1 or two feet are above the waterline.

Average Weight

A single bogberry tends to weigh about 1/3 of a pound.

In game: A bogberry can be consumed by using a maneuver. After eating the berry, recover 2 wound & 3 strain and than roll a setback die (add a second setback die if the berry is unclean.). For every failure rolled take one damage to your wound threshold and for every threat take one damage to your strain threshold.
