Magi-Organ

"The science isn't exactly the same as that of a regular synthetic organ, but it's very much similar. Donated cells, a lab setting and the steady hand of a scientist can result in the building blocks of an organ ready for transplant. The only difference between a regular organ and a magi-organ is that Synthetic Mana is part of the building process. It's under an NDA for now, but in the future I'll be allowed to fully explain it all."
— A technician at Isidoro Tech International

Brief

Magi-Organs (short for Magical Organs) are a medical invention, specifically a hybrid of magic and science, which can be a bit misleading for some. However, magic cannot simply 'poof' an organ into place, as they are complicated structures. There needs to be cooperation between the two for any success to be made. Magi-Organs are a recent creation, no more than a decade old.

Appearance

As a side-effect of being made of synthetic mana, the magi-organ's flesh is a pearly white with an almost iridescent sheen. Its appearance can be incredibly unnerving to some, but just as many consider it awe inducing and otherworldly. The organs can be hard to photograph for promotional, medical, or research related purposes because of how it reacts to light, often giving out multicolored halos of light similar to its base material.

Significance

While the creation of synthetic organs are not new to Isidoro, there are still downsides to their use. Dragons are often considered non-viable for donated or synthetic organs, due to the size difference of the organs and that they often do not accept the offered organ due to the mana conflicting, or not being enough to power vital systems.   Donations can work backwards, like Fae and Elf donating to humans, or in general that sub-species pool to another, but it is often more successful if the species are similar in magical strength. However, this is not always possible when it comes to transplants and donations. The creation of a magic produced organ that can easily fit the needs of any being, had revolutionized the transplant scene in medicine.

"What the hell is this...?" A board member looked down at the....thing in front of him. "This looks disgusting..."   "That...Thing is our newest breakthrough. It's a replica of a mouse heart, out of cells from the rodent, a base, and synthetic mana." The speaker gestured to it as it lay on a petri dish.   "It looks dead."   "Ah yes. That is unfortunately one side-effect. Due to the synthetic mana, the organ's original colouring is now white. We haven't done any tests to see if it flushes with colour yet, but no one will be seeing it, ideally." The speaker adjusted their lab coat. "This will revolutionize medicine."
