Rune-Stone Cellphone

Brief

Communication in Isidoro is an incredibly varied thing and the more tech-savvy and tech-friendly magic users that have the means will upgrade their phones with Far Reaching Speech Stones. These items are a select kind of stone that are in tune with the mana/aura around a being's throat and thoughts. They are usually carved or painted with a rune.

They're often a cosmetic bonus to phones, and many people try to match the gemstone to their case or accessories. It is incredibly common for phones to offer a variety of aesthetically matching phone cases and FRS options.

Common Ways to Modify Phones

Cases with Inlays

Similar to Popsockets and ring stands, the stone is usually built into the case. Sometimes inset and out of the way, and other times not. This depends solely on the manufacturer. Phone users who are more tech savvy and DIY may buy a FRS to adhere on their own.

Inserts

Headphone Jacks

Uses an auxiliary jack and the headphone jack on the phone. The stone, is usually wrapped in a small decorate base.

USB Port

Uses a special charm that connects into the USB port. This is similar to some electronic pay devices, or other add-ons for cellphones.

Painted Runes

The cheapest option often done by people who cant afford a stone case or charm. In this instance the magic would have to be pushed into the rune and then the phone. There are two ways to do this: one where the case of the phone is lightly carved into and the paint is applied into the grooves, or the phone can be painted on directly.

The prior can cause issues with case durability but its easy access and low price point outways the cons while with the latter you have to worry about the paint scraping or rubbing off.

God I love this idea. I never even thought about upgrading modern tech with magic before. I'm super curious to see with idea played with more.
