The Gods of Isidoro
A Glance at Absolute Power
The First Gods
These Gods are the highest in the Pantheon, and are the most well known between them all. They are heavily respected among all species, with the rare exception. The First Gods are considered the creators of the world, and are the absolute beginning and end.
Devishtari
Goddess of Mana & Creation
Most cultures believe that Devishtari was the one who shaped the Earth and breathed part of her essence into the Elements themselves. She is believed to have brought magic into the world before becoming Mana itself, becoming a silent watcher. Devishtari has her own larger article.
Devaziti
God of Lethargy & Destruction
Seen as the opposite of Devishtari, Devaziti is often portrayed as a mirror image of the Goddess. He is known as a quiet, patient individual. He is seen as someone doing what they must to keep things in balance with his counterpart, no matter what others think of him. It is accepted that he is needed to keep things equal, though some bear him ill will.
Gods of the Elements
The Patron Gods of the main four Elements of Isidoro, connected to the energies of the Earth. These Gods are worshiped for their powers over weather and the seasons, granted favor in hope of beings being blessed. It is considered common for small shrines or temples to be built in their honour, though they are not as lavish as ones dedicated to the First Gods.
Deveira
Goddess of Water
Known as the Patron Goddess of Eira, Deveira's domain consists of all forms of water. From flowing rivers, powerful hailstones, to soft, fluffy snow, and her personality is as flowing as the element itself. The first hints of frost are considered Deveira painting the landscape, allowing things to rest for the coming thaw at the end of her season. She is heavily worshipped within hotter areas of Isidoro, given gifts in hope of bringing rain down if she's flattered enough.
Devbasta
God of Fire
Known as the Patron God of Basta, Devbasta controls heat, flame and passion. Devbasta is wild and impulsive, and the ebb and flow of heatwaves are her doing. Deserts and warm locations are his main domains, but during Basta his blessings are spread all across Isidoro. Devbasta is considered a god of passion, of lovers with a burning hot love for one another. If one wishes for a relationship to be strong, they usually pray to small shrines in his name.
Devterra
Goddess of the Earth
Known as the Patron Goddess of Terra, Devterra is seen as a goddess of harvest, bringing bounty to all who sow the earth. She is often portrayed as an ample figured farmer, or someone dressed in simple yet somehow extravagant clothing. Beings pray to her when planting seeds to harvest, or while trying to get personal gardens to bloom. Plants are considered her children, and her temples seem to either naturally attract greenery, or are recommended to be crawling with life.
Devaria
Goddess of Air
Known as the Patron Goddess of Travel, Devaria is everywhere yet nowhere at once, an embodiment of wanderlust. Though she has temples built in her honour, she herself never seems to be in once place. Known to be fickle, it is usually hard to please Devaria, but when her favour is won she is known to bestow wonderful gifts, typically to travelers or explorers. When heading out on a new journey, it is customary to pray to Devaria for fair weather and safe travels.
The Great Gods
While not connected to the Elements, these Gods still play an important role in the life of people living in Isidoro. They are commonly celebrated at birthdays and funerals, believing that if they honour them during the life and death of a being, they are more likely to take care of them over the course of their life and after they have passed.Devita
God of Life
Known as the Patron Goddess of Vitaea, Devita breathes life into the land. She is celebrated during birthdays, prayed to in hopes of blessing the addressee with a long and healthy life. Devita also ushers in new life when handed a soul by Devmortu. She is the counterpart to Devmortu, often illustrated alongside him.
Devmortu
God of Death
Known as the Patron God of Unknowns, Devmortu is a gentle, caring being that carries the soul of any who have passed to his realm, where they may be reborn anew. He is honoured during funerals, in hope that if he is respected, he will take more care in ferrying their soul to his realm. Devmortu eventually hands off the souls to Devita, to be reborn. He is the counterpart to Devita, often illustrated alongside her.
Separated Gods
Isidoro typically is only represented with the previous Gods and Goddesses mentioned above. However, there is an outsider to this group, worshiped solely by Bloodkeepers.
Silence
Protector of Bloodkeepers
Silence is a newly created god, worshiped solely by bloodkeepers. They are typically depicted as both female and male, and are referred to as a singular entity. They are considered a protector and guide to the entire species. Silence has their own article.
Basta: Summer;
Terra: Fall;
