Krylan Remnant
The Krylan Remnant is the general name given to what remains of the Krylan Coalitionafter its fall. It refers to the loose collection of once-related entities that lost their political connection but still maintain some cultural and economic ties.
When city-states fell into ruin, either multiple factions rose to fill the voids or the cities were abandoned. At the same time, smaller communities began to reach out to one another for protection and new, tighter settlements emerged.
Factions
Seven Different factions continually vie for control of various sections of Kryla. Their influence has ebbed and swelled over the years, but due to the Great Forgetting, entire generations have come and gone without measurable change to the status quo of any one faction.1) Riverbottom Boys
A group of pirates prowling the waters of the Paradon and Little Paradon, searching for unwary travelers. This faction control the docks and riverbanks of Kryla, including warehouses, taverns and other former areas of commerce. Their ships are just as likely to be docked as they are to be in the water. One pirate captain has risen to prominence in recent years, a a half-giant named Captain Morlan Fang. He rarely leaves the safety of the shore these days, and can usually be found holding court in an old warehouse on the docks. There are around 75 actual functioning pirate/buccaneers/swashbucklers in the faction that actually engage in seafaring tasks. They are mostly human but ships with whole or partial crews of orcs, half-orcs, gnolls do exist. The rest of the faction’s 750 or so members are wives, children, older pirates and other hangers-on.
