Triad Hearts

The Triad Hearts are a trio of magical heart-shaped gemstones that are attuned to the main deities of the world.

The three gemstones are:

  Heart of the Wind (Yellow)

  Heart of the Flame (Red)
  
  
• 
  Heart of the Depths (Blue)
  
  

The gemstones are of an unknown material and cannot be identified as standard types (i.e. ruby, sapphire, etc.). The apparent value of each is equivalent to a 500gp gemstone, but an experienced gemologist will be able to recognize they are not what they appear.

Each of the individual hearts is associated with one of three deities in the Triad Pantheon:

• Yellow - Mantidae
• Red - The Phoenix
• Blue - Each-Uisge

The gemstones once resided in a unique crown known as The Elemental Crown that contains indentions where each of the three hearts can fit. Its original function was to allow communication between the High Clerics and their gods. Over time, it was also imbued with a power to encase the Laynan Empire in an impenetrable barrier.

During the events of the The Elemental Sundering the Hearts were removed and separated. When all three hearts are returned and placed into the indentations on the pendant, a transformation occurs. The three hearts merge in a flash of light to form a larger, green heart, the Heart of the World, which is associated with Nehebkau, the Great Hidden Deity of the Earth. It is said if the wearer is worthy, they can use it to summon Nehebkau back to the world.
