Odeteros

Odeteros is the founder and leader of the Astani, a group of Fae who believe in a more balanced approach to maintaining the fabric of reality. He was once a part of Eldaren society, but when he spoke out about his controversial views he was cast out. Since then he has founded the secret brotherhood of the Astani - the 'caretakers' - with the goal of seeking both a peaceful resolution to the civil war between the Eldaren and the Drakhari and of finding a way to guide humanity upon a path of peace with the world without robbing them of their civil liberty.

Personal history

Odeteros is the son of a scholar who worked his whole life to better understand the destiny of their people. He passed along these findings to his son. This new interpretation of the ancient texts - a way to become caretakers of both the Faewylde and the Mortal realms - is what lead him upon a path to exile.
After his father joined The Source, Odeteros continued his studies. In the most ancient texts he found tales of Fae who traveled the conduits to the Mortal Realms to help shape that primordial world into what it is today. There were even some stories that implied that humans were the remnants of Fae who sacrificed their connection with The Source to stay as stewards of this new realm.
Odeteros presented his findings to the King and the Keepers - a group of spiritual leaders charged with overseeing the preservation of the Eldaren way of life and the purity of The source. He was ridiculed and deemed a heretic. Some even spoke of executing him so that he could not spread his blasphemy. Joined by those few who saw wisdom in his words, Odeteros went into exile and hid from his former kin.
Since then, the brotherhood of the Astani has grown and even now includes some who fled from the Drakhari to find a better way. Odeteros and his followers operate from the shadows, attempting to subtly guide the future of both the Faewylde and the Mortal Realms.
