Fleshwarping is a foul, twisted science developed first by House Noqu'rae's ancestors, through demonic tutelage. The art spread through dark circles in whispered secrets, sometimes being lost entirely and yet being revived through torturous experiments and sharp smiles; in its current form, it is known through many areas of the Underdark.
Specifically, fleshwarping is the process by which excessive violence, mutilation, and magic transform a living being from one form to another. Driders are perhaps the best-known example of this foul practice, being former drow who were transformed into monstrous spiderlike beings. Successful fleshwarping experiments tend to result in the same sort of creature per species, and failures result in fleshwarped dregs.
