Keselam is a nation in the central south of Takawaoku, bordering the Sea of Souls. It is known for its innovations into water management for its more deserted regions, the unique ecosystems that are found in its sands, and its plethora of natural resources thanks to its plunder of its mountainous regions and the ores lying within the Scalded Plateau.
Unlike most other nations, Keselam sees the use of magic as wild and untamed, even when the magic in question is provided by deities. Divine and arcane is strictly banned unless special dispensation has been granted by the strict government; these permissions are usually restricted to healers, oathbound warriors, and those embedded in vital systems. The punishment for violating this decree ranges from imprisonment or corporal punishment for lesser crimes, to banishment or death for extreme breaches.
