R'kal Orc

The R'kal orcs are the original inhabitants of the Everfall Mountains, inhabiting the snowy peaks long before dwarves from the frozen north stormed across the land and drow slid beneath the surface.
They were originally a largely subterranean folk, ascending surfacewards during the summer months to trade with nearby settlements, and descending again once the weather began to turn. Unfortunately, this made them prime targets for the continent's growing populace. The majority of the R'kal orcs were killed in war, and their remnants enslaved, disfigured, or banished.
Only a small number remain to this day, largely in continued slavery. A small minority in Ylt champions the cause of their eventual return, though little has been done to accomplish this given the milennia that has passed.
