Summoners are arcane mages that specialise in Conjuration magic of the summoning school. Each summoner forms a bond with a being known as an eidolon - a particular outsider - that shares power with the summoner as the two grow closer. It is said that the most powerful summoners are so closely merged with their eidolons that they share fragments of the same soul.
Summoners face more danger than many other arcane casters due to the nature of the beings they summon. While the eidolon is no risk to the summoner in most cases, the other creatures they call may cause them issues, especially as they grow powerful enough to draw attention from the Outer Sphere. It is not uncommon for powerful summoners to be proactively solicited by devils, for instance.
