The Council of Elders
The Council of Elders is a group of powerful and wise elven leaders who have served as advisors to the Elven Queen for centuries. They were originally formed after the Corthon Wilds were settled by the elven people to ensure that the land was governed justly and fairly.
The council is made up of the eldest and most respected members of each of the elven noble houses. Each house is represented by a single elder who is chosen by their peers for their wisdom and experience. The council meets regularly to discuss matters of state and offer advice to the Queen.
Over the years, the Council of Elders has become a powerful force in elven society, and its members are widely respected for their knowledge and experience. They have played a crucial role in many of the Wilds' most important historical events, from wars and rebellions to the establishment of new laws and customs.
Although the council's power has waxed and waned over the centuries, it remains an important institution in the Corthon Wilds to this day. Its members continue to serve as advisers to the Queen, and their counsel is valued by all who seek to govern the Wilds justly and fairly.
Structure
The Council of Elders is led by a High Elder, who is chosen by the other members of the council. The High Elder serves as the head of the council and is responsible for overseeing its activities, ensuring that its decisions are carried out, and representing the council in matters of diplomacy and public relations. The High Elder is typically a seasoned member of the council with many years of experience and a respected reputation among the elven people. Below the High Elder, there may be several other council members who hold leadership positions within the council, such as advisors or committee chairs. Ultimately, however, all members of the council have equal voting rights and a voice in council decisions.
Culture
The Council of Elders has a deeply ingrained respect for the natural world, and often takes a holistic view of their role in maintaining balance between the natural world and the needs of their society. They believe in the importance of living in harmony with the environment and take great care to ensure that their actions do not harm the natural world.
