Uthar Onol
Uthar Onol was founded by a dwarf named Baradin Ungartt, a legendary figure among the dwarven people. Baradin was a skilled miner and blacksmith who led a group of dwarves on a long journey through the Khastin Mountains, seeking a new home. They eventually came upon a large cavern, deep beneath the surface, that was rich in minerals and had a natural source of water.
Baradin and his followers set to work immediately, using their skills to carve out the cavern and build a new settlement. They named their new home Uthar Onol, which in the dwarven tongue meant "The First Mountain", as it was the first true underground kingdom they had established. Over time, more and more dwarves joined them in Uthar Onol, and the settlement grew into a great city.
Baradin was revered by the dwarves of Uthar Onol as a great leader and a skilled craftsman. Under his guidance, they built great forges and mines, and their weapons and armor were renowned throughout the Khastin Mountains. Baradin's descendants continued to rule over Uthar Onol for many generations, maintaining their independence and guarding their secrets from the outside world.
For centuries, the dwarves of Uthar Onol mined the riches of the earth and crafted great works of art and engineering. They built vast halls and caverns, adorned with intricate carvings and glittering gems. The dwarves also forged powerful weapons and armor, and their warriors became known throughout the land for their skill and bravery.
However, the kingdom's peaceful existence was threatened by the growing power of the Empire of Halion. The Halish claimed the surface of the Khastin mountains as their territory, leading to territorial disputes with the dwarves. The dwarves of Uthar Onol fiercely defended their home and their borders, but tensions between the two civilizations continued to rise.
Despite these challenges, Uthar Onol remains a shining example of dwarven culture and innovation. Its people are known for their fierce independence and stubbornness, and their craftsmanship is revered throughout the land.
