Troll

Trolls are a species of large creatures known for their ability to regenerate almost any body part. The only body parts unable to be regenerated are the heart, kidneys, and brain. Much of the medicine practiced by Trolls focus on the heart, kidneys, and brain for this reason.

Appearance

General Appearance

Trolls are built far taller and wider than an average human, and are even taller than their orc cousins. Their bones are far larger and thicker than a human's, and this is only accentuated by their easily gained fat reserves. Trolls have far longer arms than legs; their hands often hang to mid-calf. Trolls have skulls with a pronounced nasal cavity and extremely small eyes in comparison to humans.

Hair

A troll's hair is usually dark-colored and grows with immense speed. Troll hair tends to be thicker and stronger than human hair, and is a popular material used in ropecrafting due to its tensile strength.

Diet

Aligning with popular belief, trolls are mesocarnivores, with roughly 60% of their diet needing to consist of meat. Contrary to the same popular belief, though, a troll's diet rarely consists of more than 85% meat, and is usually supplemented with insects, fungi, and certain types of plant matter.

Biological Cycle

Trolls have a significantly slower biological cycle than humans.

Population

Ithan is home to roughly 5,500,000 Trolls. This is 1.1% of Ithan's current population of 500 million sapient beings.
