Mattrim Mereg (a.k.a. Threestrings)

This socially awkward bard performs at the Yawning Portal and is a better musician than he is a conversationalist.
He's called "Threestrings" because he plays a lute that has only three strings remaining. He lives at the inn, where he spends his afternoons and evenings playing as the main act.
In the month of Kythorn, the Harper members of the Trollslayers, Nymexida, Kenonulous, and Braedon, discovered that Mattrim was one of their own. It turned out that his gigs at the Yawning Portal are a cover for him to conduct discreet surveillance and intelligence gathering on behalf of the Harpers. He poses as a mediocre bard so he doesn't raise suspicion, but when he doesn't hold himself back he is actually an incredibly talented lute player, even if his lute is missing a string.
During his mission, he learned that Bonnie, the barmaid of the Yawning Portal, was in fact a Doppelganger, and that she had come to Waterdeep with 4 others like her. Threestrings implored his Harper handlers to see if Bonnie and her kin could be trusted, and maybe even join the Harpers. After Bonnie set up a brief meeting between the Harpers and her Doppel-Gang, it was determined that Bonnie is the only truly trustworthy one, whereas the other 4 had mixed determinations.
