Master of Negotiations & Opportunities Davil Starsong

Davil is a sun elf with an affinity for magic and gifted with the patience of a saint. Unlike most other bards, he's not the least bit pretentious or aloof. He keeps a room at the Yawning Portal and does all his business in the establishment's taproom. He negotiates deals with grace and aplomb, even while drunk, and uses his instruments as conduits for his spellcasting. When he's feeling cheerful, he'll enchant one of his instruments to magically hover in the air and play his favorite tunes.
Three years ago, Davil and his band of adventurers, known as the Doom Raiders for the multitude of liches they destroyed and their lairs they looted, came to Waterdeep and put their adventuring past behind them. Since then, Davil has worked tirelessly to rise within the ranks of the Black Network division in Waterdeep. He's been accorded with the title of Master of Opportunities and Negotiations because he's so good at sniffing out lucrative business deals, and he makes friends easily. As such he has been unofficially designated the de-facto leader of the Zhentarim within Waterdeep, and many, though not all, Zhentarim agents are loyal to him.
He likes to think he's set himself apart from other Black Network cells in Faerun by running a more legitimate operation, despite the illicit nature of his organization's methods. He is highly respected amongst nobles, common folk, and even the guilds of Waterdeep for the tight ship he runs, especially in contrast with the ruthless lawlessness of the Xanathar Guild.
