Orond Gralhund

Head of the Gralhund nobility line, a family known for their trade in arms, mercenaries, and wine-making, Orond is a short, stocky man dressed in fine clothes and is always well-groomed, using his appearance to disarm even the gruffest of Waterdhavians. He is almost always at his wife's side, touchingly devoted and infatuated with her even after so many years of marriage. When away from his wife, he is often seen consorting with masters of the local merchant guilds. Despite his appearances and his attempts to ingratiate himself with the upper echelons of society, Orond is not a quick-thinking or cultured sort of man, and deep down, he knows it. When he opens his mouth, his boorish nature, inflated sense of self-importance, fragile ego, and despicable opinions about "the common rabble" come to the fore, and his charm quickly dissipates. He and his wife share their half-orc bodyguard, a hulking figure with a cleft lip, keeping him closeby in fear that others might attack and rob him at any moment. When in Yalah's presence, Orond becomes an altogether different person: quiet, timid, and happy to left his wife have the spotlight. On his lonesome, he is prone to excessive boasting and temper tantrums. He spends most of his time watching mercenaries train, paying bills, and and ranting about the cost of doing business in the city. Upon the investigation of the rogue nimblewright, the Trollslayers stumbled onto the Gralhund estate while it was under siege by Zhentarim agents. In the chaos of it all, Orond was trapped in the upstairs guest quarters as Urstul was attempting to break in and accost the noble. Urstul was deterred by the sudden appearance of well-equipped adventurers, choosing to escape, and Orond was saved by the party.
