Honeyfields
The Honeyfields are located on the outskirts of the western Skyreach Mountains and, as their name suggests, famed for the production of honey and its byproducts.
Geography
The Honeyfields stretch across a large hilly area north of the Green River and Forest of Flame. All around the year the meadows of the Honeyfields are buzzing with insects, snow is a surprisingly rare sight in the region, despite it lying so far north. Almost in the center of the fields lies the town of Fandyl, one of the oldest and most traditional hamlets that survived the Invasion War almost unscathed.
Dozens of small rivers can be found through the region, eventually joining in a small delta that leads into the Quiet Sea, or more precisely the Thorn Strait separating the Ivendarean Mainland and the island Maan Garth.
Fauna & Flora
Apart from a huge multitude of bees and butterflies there are a few remote farms in this region who specialize in Silk Spiders and silk production, but the spiders are not native to the region and therefore closely guarded to not interfere with the local ecosystem.
Sheep and goat-herds are a common sight as well, and in no other region on the Ivendarean Mainland one would find Giant Goats, imported from Maan Garth and feeling quite at home in the lush fields.
What truly makes the Honeyfields a magnificent sight to visitors though are the countless wild flowers and blossoms growing on the meadows all year round. Colour combinations vary with the change of seasons, at the height of summer the whole region turning into a rainbow-coloured ocean, while in the spring-months light pastel tones oppose the vibrant reds, blues, yellows of the fall. Even during winter types of flowers can be found that only then show their beauty, and large white moths hatch from their chrysalises, and even larger fluffy bees help in the production of the rare Frost Honey, which is mild and sweet and highly coveted as an ingredient of warm drinks and mead in the cold northern regions during the winter.
