The Bottomless Depths

Formerly one of the great pirate states of the Black Gulf has since grown dark. As more fear builds in the hearts and minds of its denizens hope too slowly fades. This fear has no direct cause except for the shadows that move and hunt in the dark. Townsfolk watch helplessly as they see the lights go out in the homes of their friends deep into the night only for them to be gone by the morning. The only thing many of the citizens can agree on is the source is the Pit. A lake that was once the namesake of the town now seems to be the sole focus of its decline. An eerie fog comes from the lake and it brings with it a sense of foreboding and fear which does not fade anywhere in town those brave heroes who delve into its depths never return and the shadow of the night grows darker every year.
