Idemountilan Intervention
While there had been peace in the southern region of the eastern continent of Ivryia, a growing tension began to form between Idemountila, Skipsia, and Freystalia. Due to their desire to expand their reach of power, Idemountila would begin their intervention into the young and vulnerable Republic of Skipsia along their northeastern border. On the eastern border was the Principality of Freystalia, who, to prevent against getting invaded themselves, would join the conflict, not to protect their neighbors, but simply to stop the expansion of Idemountila's border.
The Conflict
Prelude
In their insatiable need for power and expansion, Idemountila set upon the small, vulnerable, and relatively new Republic of Skipsia, with only a fraction of its military force.
Deployment
The intervention, as it is referred to by the Idemountilans, would begin with a sudden deployment of two regiments to the Idemountilan-Skipsian border. Compared to the Kingdom's professionally trained soldiers, Skipsia's mustered forces were significantly less adept in battle tactics. The Republic would eventually instate a draft that would enlist all able bodied people to aid in the war effort.
After seeing the invasion of Skipsia by their more powerful neighbor to the south, the Principality of Freystalia would eventually send support troops to their western neighbor to protect against the likely expansion of the invasion.
After Freystalia joined the conflict, Idemountila would deploy another two reigments to the region, as well as sending out one naval fleet to prevent naval attacks from the Principality. In response, the Principality would deploy two fleets.
Battlefield
When Idemountila entered Skipsian territory, they would quickly gain a foothold in the smaller border villages without much of a fight. Once the news of the invasion had reached the Skipsian capitol, their army was mustered and eventually they began to fight back.
Before Freystalia joined the conflict, most interactions between Skipsia and Idemountila were smaller skirmishes. They would successfully fight off some smaller ventures to overtake smaller villages further inland. However, when the two forces met in more traditional battles, the Skipsian forces would see massive casualties.
When Freystalia entered the conflict, the forces would meet more often in larger battles, rather than skirmishes.
