Welcome to Ixalan (Ix-uh-lon)

Ixalan. Land of Monsters.  Home to awesome elemental forces and battlefield in the battle of wildnerness and civilization.   Myths stalk the forests, with many thirsting for the mystical lost city of Otazca.  

Many seek to bend the world of Ixalan to their will, and one of it's greatest strengths is the presence of the terrible giant lizards that populate the contintent, Dinosaurs.  The Sun Kijngdom, a mighty kingdom of primarily humans, lives in some semblance of harmony with the enormous reptiles, be they the stolid workhorses like Armasaurs, or devastating war machines like the Gigantosaur.  They revere the 3-Headed God, symbolized by Zacama, one of the three elder dinosaurs.  Militant and aggressive, the Sun Kingdom rides the line between unbridled wilderness and the total subjugation of nature.  
Merfolk (Triton) natives hide a great treasure in the deep jungles and lakes of the great land.   Distrustful, but not necessarily malicious, the Merfolk fanatically keep some artifact secret.  It isn't known if any merfolk today even know what they are hiding, but they will nevertheless brook no attempt to infiltrate their lands without passage being given by an elder.  
The Brazen Coalition is a loose association of pirates that left Otazca many centuries ago.  Instead of settling down in the oppressive Sun Kingdom, dying to the Merfolk natives, or submitting to religious fanaticism, many fled the dying city of Otazca centuries ago and took to the open seas, hunting aquafauna and vessels alike to survive.  Many fleets exist in opposition or outright war with each other, but it is unlikely that members of the Brazen Coalition will side with another faction against a fellow member.  
Torrezon is the country occupying the second continent on Ixalan.  A theocracy subscribing to the Church of Dusk, a religion centering on vampirism, Torrezon has already completely taken over its home continent, and has started setting up colonies and raiding camps on Ixalan.   Aggressive, intolerant, and bloodthirsty, the vampires of Torrezon look upon the 'savages' of Ixalan as slaves and livestock.
